When the Brady house went up for sale, the original siblings weren't interested in buying it - but they were interested in teaming up with HGTV.

I was 13 in 1969. It was a great year for outstanding music and television shows. The Brady Bunch was one of them. At 8:00 pm every Friday night on Channel 7 (ABC in New York), our family would sit around the first color TV we had purchased as a family. These were unforgettable memories. I wish I could live them again. What a wonderful time in my life.

With 8 million viewers, I hope the "Brady Kids" are well compensated this time. Did you know that after the show ended and went into syndication in 1973, the Brady actors only received royalties for 10 months ? (Susan "Cindy" revealed it several years ago). Yet the Network continued to cash in all this time. WTF - so unfair!!! People watch the Brady Bunch to see them, not the Network; hence they should be compensated accordingly. Thank you Barry, Maureen, Christopher, Eve, Mike, Susan.....and, of course, Robert, Florence, and Ann for being part of our lives despite not being fairly paid. Thank you so much!!!

Old news. Lousy contracts were the sign of the times. Shatner and the trek kids didnt get compensated fairly until they did the movies years later.

@@CaptainSpalding72 Old news that still affect them....and still unfair! Not every Trek fan watched Star Trek to see Shatner but every Brady fan watch the Brady Bunch to see the actors. That is why they must be paid!

After the show was cancelled they only got royalties for the first 10 reruns of each episode.

I'm glad they are poor.
@rubygreta14 жыл бұрын
They were probably happy to get those 10 months. The ratings the last year were in the tank, and they probably thought the show would disappear, never to be seen again. Somehow, it became an immediate hit in reruns, and that's why they created the Brady Bunch variety show (was horrible and only lasted nine episodes).

My personal story with Florence Henderson--When I used to live in Nashville, I was an HMUA who did some work for the old Nashville Network. Florence had a show called "Country Kitchen" and she commuted to Nashville from her Kentucky home. One afternoon, I was called in as an emergency to fill in for the regular HMUA to do the hair and makeup for the show. And, the guest was Davy Jones, which turned out to be one of the best episodes of Country Kitchen, as they relived the famous episode of the Brady Bunch. As an aside, I found out something that day about Florence. She was a highly-skilled hypnotist, and my second career plan was to become a hypnotherapist. She actually gave me some pointers and recommendations. She was an incredibly down to Earth woman and as friendly as any celebrity I have ever worked with, but then my experiences over 30+ years in this business working on celebrities in both LA and Nashville, is that Nashville creates an atmosphere where people treat celebs like they are their neighbors, and out here, celebs are more standoffish until they earn your trust. Ah, I miss my hometown so much, and so many of my friends are fleeing Socal for Nashville. Maybe HGTV should do a show there since so much building is going on in my hometown.

I was born in October 1969. Just a month after the Brady bunch first aired. I was watching it in the early 70s as a toddler as the seasons were still fresh on tv. It's funny I can still remember in 1973 watching them with my brothers in my bedroom. Such memories as i grew up with the Brady's. Their show is exactly my age. 52 years in September. Awesome. Also I remember I used to be in to speed racer and kimba when it aired on channel 52. Japanese animation. Good times. 😁😎👌👍

She was always the prettiest. Also, I think the most intelligent, which is why she usually seems bored at these events. (If I had to sit and recount something I did 50 years ago, I would find it tedious, also). HGTV did a great interview with her in her Manhatten apartment. She is lively, fun, and eager to talk about her career as an artist. And no doubt glad the interviewer never once mentions THE BRADY BUNCH.
@mckenna86635 жыл бұрын
@@johnfd0210 you must be a publicist. She comes off as a cross between odd and a stick in the mud. I understand she's a nice person, but she comes off in these shows as absolutely Dreadful.
@frisco215 жыл бұрын
johnfd0210...I reacted differently than you. Eve Plumb was interviewed for a video series titled "At Home With The Bradys," yet the Brady Bunch wasn't mentioned one single time in the entire interview. It felt really odd. Clearly, Plumb had placed a gag order on the producers, forbidding them to mention the show as a condition of doing the interview, which only succeeded in making Plumb look snobbish and full of herself. Having said that, I do credit Eve for participating in the renovation project, even though her boredom is palpable. I'm sure they're paying her a boatload of dough for her appearances.
@jad81235 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that interview was soooo funny for the fact that the words The Brady Bunch weren't uttered. LOL!!! I'm sure TPTB were told in advance if you want the interview don't mention The Brady Bunch. That said, in all of the round table interviews with the cast for the HGTV show she seems okay with it. I suspect once is done everyone will have had their fill and will probably never do a full reunion in any form ever again. It's the 50th and it's special. I think Chris even said that in an earlier interview.

@Paul Greening Of course, looks are to some degree subjective, but to me, Susan appears to have the skin of someone who has abused themselves with a drug habit, in which I would include tobacco use, over-tanning, etc. Eve and Maureen however, seem to have the appearance of women in their 50s and 60s who have made healthier choices, at least of late.
