I watched this movie and loved it. I recently got the opportunity to go to NYC for the first time, and saw this show on my first night there. After watching Steve Kazee sing the first song, "leave" I was bawling, just from the raw emotion that he put into the performance. The whole cast was amazing, and although this may not be the "typical" broadway show, it has been the most life-changing performance I have ever seen. This show deserved the Tony award that they got.

I just love this so much. I get shivers watching this, I saw the show a while ago and it was just lovely and so moving and everything was great and it was so cool with the actor-musicians. I still listen to the recording all the time this is just flawless. I was on the verge of tears watching this

I'm going to be completely honest here...I prefer this to the movie.😳 one of the only reasons is because I found this before the film, so for me this cast are the characters! I LOVVEE the film though!!! I just, my heart holds a special place for this musical with this cast!!! I've broken the album; it's gotten me through so many tough times. This musical is my saving grace!!!

This show was amazing, and immediately after coming home from the theatre I downloaded the cast recording. I am still, over 24 hours later, in awe and disbelief at what I just saw and heard.

I´m from Brazil and, for obviously reasons, I was never able to watch it on Broadway (plus I just discovered this a few years ago)...but I wish I could watch a Once movie with this cast. I have the soundtrack on CD and gotta say those are the most fascinating, amazing and beautiful songs I've ever heard.

Saw it in America last year with a touring theatre company in Australia, and we loved every second, the intensity, the acting and the music

Probably the most original, well staged production I have seen so far. The actors are un- believable , the transitions from one seen to another very clever and the music very inspiring. Run to see this Show, this is a must!

best. show. ever. Everything about it makes sense. People aren't just walking down the street busting out into song like other musicals. It's real and beautiful and I loved EVERY minute of this show....every SECOND, actually!

More than any other year I've seen, the greatest new broadway shows this year have so so much love and dedication behind them, and it's so conforting to me to know that they are being praised. Shows like Once make me believe in theater again.

They say "Everyone's taste is in their mouth" - and so it is here! This is different music than the ones from the great composers and the Great American songbook. And the Beatles were perhaps the great and most influential band in the world. We are talking apples and oranges. Instead of being negative, go see the show or the movie and you will see the music is the show - the whole show just about. "Falling Slowly" won the Academy Award. It is haunting and the world goes quiet when you hear it.

I LOVED the movie, and honestly, I thought the musical was better. I've seen it twice now. Any director who wants to direct musical theater right should see this show and study the staging! Even the transitions are incredible. RUN to see this show.

My comment is not about the show, which I'm sure is fantastic! The actors, I am sure are very sincere, talented, etc. But....think about all the great melodies we have... ...Schubert...Richard Rodgers, the Beatles, etc. etc. These songs are just not that good! You have to separate the succession of notes in a song from the great feeling that the words bring you....these are just not good, memorable melodies.

Almost Hollywoodised. Yuck.

Nope... maybe it has always been the way, but that big, overbearing campness of 99% of musicals makes them painfully cheesy to me. I like the idea of more realistic performances, where straight men appear to be SOMEWHAT straight... less jazz-hands and overblown, overacted shows. There is a place for camp musical theatre of course, but here's to the dawning of a new age.
