The kitbashes are impressive enough but when you look at the small details like the layering highlights on the faces it’s obvious this is a very special Ork army loved by the owner. Phenomenal.

Hey man can you have 2 separate squads of Plague Marines in 1 Rhino ? It says a Rhino can hold 10 infantry. So could you have 1 squad of 5 marines and another squad of 5 marines, could you transport both squads in the same Rhino ? It would still add up to 10 guys.

@savagex466-qt1io yes, there's no limit to the number of units that can share a transport as long as they don't exceed the transport capacity. You could take 2x 5 plague marines, each with a leader attached, and stick them in the same rhino, since a rhino has a transport capacity of 12 models

No idea why Capture Enemy Outpost is a secondary that isn't shuffled back if you draw it T1. There is literally no instance of being able to score that on the first turn.

Ah yes, old lead minis are really lethal throwing weapons. my personal favourite is the old space marine dreadnought. It fits perfectly in your hand and has a nice weight to it.

Thanks for the entertaining escapism. Like the terrain, lovely painted armies. The Nurgle boys look suitably rotten. Show stealing goodness has to be the fungus eyecandy, generations of Orks come for the rumble, put a smile on my face. Nice to see the jolly Freebooter with the coat, one of my favourite Ork models, still.

One rules note - when you charge, every model that charges MUST end base to base with an enemy model if you can. Those 2 units that charged Orks in turn 3 both rolled 11" charge and would 100% of had room to base every model. I hate it but thems the rules. It would impact who could fight what and can completely change the combat.

You are correct and that’s a new element that I completely forgot. It can change a combat result (or pull someone off an objective) but I don’t think it made any difference in this game (though I’ve not rewatched it since your comment)

Stormboy tactic.... *chef's kiss* This is something people in my area are HORRIBLE at: playing the objective. If the unit didnt kill anything they tend to view it as wasted, even if it soaked way more points worth of shooting than its worth and despite it giving you points. had a game with necrons where my CCB literally didnt kill anything all game but i'd peg him as MVP both for res orb and literally causing me to score 3 more times than i would have due to +1OC and a hail-merry charge success. Not everything needs to actually cause damage to be useful.

Absolutely, my list was mostly for fun (as hopefully is obvious) but there were quite a few units planned for secondaries (Stormboyz, Weirdboy unit, outflanking Boyz and potentially the Shokkjump Dragsta…not that it ended up helping!)

They really do: having my old lead warboss Bludteef leading the army just didn’t feel right so he got a rebuild to a scale that feels like he could impose order on da boyz

Feels rather charitable going for the plague that doesn't hurt the horde army's offense. May have been far worse if you didn't go for that.

We did talk about that before the game that tactically reducing Ork shooting would have been a good move but the extra AP effect feels a bit more narrative for Death Guard so that’s what he went for (Winters is nothing if not the king of narrative play)

heres a good question, when a sticky obj is contested is it still yours? because im pretty sure the sticky obj clause says thats its yours until your opponent takes it. idk if theres another part to that saying something abt contested objs

The rule says that it stays controlled by the Death Guard until their opponent controls it at the start or end of any turn. Therefore merely contesting it isn’t enough: the enemy have to control it

How do you feel about the deamon prince? Whenever I run mine he either dies right away because 10 wounds isn't very much or the 6+ fnp just doesn't really save much I Mean I could just take 10 more Plague Marines for the same price

You’re quite right: I made that save! But Winters still had a PBC that would definitely still have destroyed it. That would have left a few more Bikers alive but not enough to have changed the outcome of the game!

You’re quite right. Winters did remember this in his turn 1 though and forgetting it in turn 2 didn’t change anything as he wounded the buggy he was shooting at anyway.

Commenting before I even watch it but this is probably my two favorite factions duking it out. Regardless of who wins, it's a win overall in my book but gogo Death Guard, you deserve it. Edit: Ok I've now seen the army intros, it's pretty hard to root for DG now but still, I think they deserve the win. Cool as F Ork army tho.

Are you sure? I can’t see that exception on the Nob with Waaagh banner data sheet (in the same way that I can see on the various Foetid Virion characters in the Death Guard for example)

You’re quite right, but you need 20 Boyz to attach two characters. It’s not limited to the Nob with Waaagh banner: one of them has to be a Warboss though

as 10th edition gamers points are the holy grail, but my opponent had more points, but turn 5 i tabled him with over 25&% my army left. yet he won??? that just feels wrong.

I think that’s a good thing: it enables the person who tabled their opponent to feel good about that and for the person who lost their army to feel good that they achieved strategic objectives so won the war. Think of Thermopylae as the perfect example
