My former mother-in-law and her hubby bought a small farm outside Austin, Tx upon retiring. Everything was fine until city folk started moving down there and letting their dogs run loose. Some of the dogs packed up and started killing livestock. They killed everyone of their beloved goats. Dogs should NOT be allowed to run loose.

Well not exactly, there are dogs that have been bred for hunting purposes, the ones with a high prey drive usually should not be kept with farm animals, but herding breeds like border collies or the shetland sheepdogs are bred for herding livestock usually are a safe bet. At the end it depends on how the dog was trained as a puppy. For example, for huskies and malamutes they should not be kept with other pets, but on Life with Malamutes Phil is ok but Nico isn't okay with other dogs, and on the Milpert the Huskies channel the huskies were ok with a Guinea Pig

There was a pretty big dog pack where I used to live, and I mean they would even come after a person They lived out from town in a big wooded thicket, but could be seen usually early mornings and late afternoons. My neighbor and I had found an old dumping ground and had found some really old medicine bottles and had gone back to find more. We were a good ways from the car...and we could hear them yelping. We started back...here they came running hard towards us. Snarling, it was scary. We got to the car and jumped in. They were right behind us. They jumped on the hood, were chewing at the tires, bumper, fender, I couldn't believe it. We counted 9 and quickly drove away. They gave chase but soon backed off. The town had been trying to find them after several people had lost livestock. They wanted blood now and enjoyed killing. We got home and the constable was visiting with our husbands and we told him and showed him the scratches all over the car as well as the bite marks. The three men took off to the spot we had been. On the way there in a pasture they were taking down a calf. They killed 5 of them, and had to finish off the poor calf. We thought we would be safe, it was right after lunch, do our thing and get back home..we were wrong. These dogs were med. and up in size. They may have been tame at one time...but not any more. The old bottles? It was a good 6 months before we ever went back. This time our husbands watched as we dug, loaded and ready...just in case.

I'm in TX also and, a number of years ago there were a couple of dogs that kept harassing my horses. Fortunately, there didn't end up being any injuries, possibly because my older horse didn't tolerate any crap from dogs, LOL! He'd even go after them if they were bothering another horse while he was around! The county I live in couldn't care less about animals, which I found out after calling the sheriff's office several times. The entirety of their advice consisted of "When it happens again, shoot them." During that time I researched laws regarding loose dogs and from what I understand, anyone can shoot a dog that's going after livestock, if the attack is "recent, in progress or imminent". And the livestock doesn't actually have to be yours! If I'm driving down the road and see dogs attacking some strangers cows, I can stop and shoot them. Now, this doesn't mean I WANT to shoot dogs, I love dogs; I have 4 of them. In fact, I prefer them to most people. But if I come out there and somebody's dog(s) are attacking my horse, all bets are off!

I had a cat that was hermafrodite. The very experienced vetenerian that was about to spade/nuder her, was flabbergasted. She used a lot of time searching for the egg leader, and found one, that was three time the size, and one tiny "thread" that was clinging to the thick leader. She did this surgery with a whole bunch of spesialist, who saw everything live,by camera/data. She did not manage to remove all the parts that could lead the cat go getting pregnant, so i had to medicate her as well. She would have died if she become pregnant, thou , i do not think she could be,because she acted like a boy...she got "the heat", growld like a he cat , she pied upwards on everything. The cat had a cat toilet inside the house, and she pied in the ceiling of the toilet ! ! She did not get that old, already at six/seven years old, she got problems. Mostly psychic problem, she could not get at ease. And she pied everywhere, high up, and the vet said she had pain because of her parts was not normal. That is when we put her down. It was sad. The cat was a kitten from a way to young cat that got pregnant way before she was old enough, the vetenerian said the mother not was older than six months old. She thought that is why this kitten had a lot of issue. I tryed to give her a good life, but when she was in pain, and the vet could not help, she was put down. She was a very special cat, indeed, and made a lit of fuss online with all the vetenerians debating what and how, when in surgery. I saw a lot of cases, and the young cats, loosing their home, and getting pregnant way to early, was what made me crye. It made me furious on all people who had cats getting litter after litters, thinking the cat "liked it"??? "Good homes", is what they called it,when people wanted a cute kittens, so the children could play with. A kitten is not a toy. And to own a cat is not a right. And,it is NOT for free. They need their own food, they need a chip, and vacination s. And, the have to be nuder/spaded ,if they not are a indor cat/never out. I am still waiting for the laws to change. I hate that people are treating the cat so bad. So bad! (Sorry for my bad english)

Funnel web spiders live everywhere. Though a lot of them are not this big. Quite small in the US. They make little funnels in corners or in the grass. Not sure how venomous these tiny ones would be. I Just read this: "All funnel-web spider bites should be treated as potentially life-threatening, even though only approximately 10% to 15% of bites are venomous. Since the venom from the funnel-web spider bite is highly toxic, all species should be considered potentially dangerous.Aug 15, 2020" They are long and skinny with vertical stripes on the back. That's what I see here in Michigan and in Nebraska.

It's a vet show... but also an extremely popular TV SHOW!! Guaranteed that a lot of the solutions are pre-scripted to make Chris look like a genius!! Not that I am doubting that Chris is a very intelligent and warm-hearted guy!! I love ALL the vets on this show!! My real hero is Tim!! Holy He'll those spiders are TERRIFYING!! Australia is beautiful... but all the snakes and spiders and other critters are too much for ne! I could NEVER live there! I am terrified even of relatively small spiders. I was actually freaking out that those kids were in the room when he was spider-hunting. Hopefully those owners called an exterminator the next day to have the entire house, yard and garden sprayed!!!!!

For others who will need to pen up a sheep for injuries to heal, it will greatly help the healing process to put another sheep in with them. It will significantly reduce the stress on the animal. Sheep are herd animals. They feel vulnerable alone and they miss the companionship. If they are isolated because contagion issues, having a sheep within sight will help. If you don’t have another sheep, they bond quickly to other animals. They love cats. Hope this will be of help. Llamas and donkeys, as well as guardian dogs, are good protection when they are with the flock. I had dog attacks every year until I put a llama in with the flock. Llamas love lambs and they bond quickly with sheep. Pen them next to each other for a day or two and the introduction should go well.

Well they didn't know it was a funnel web at first. And thing is like, you get really accustomed to your native deadly animals, and the threat is obviously a lot less severe when they're great treatment (not a single person has died from a funnel web since the anti-venom). We had a redback in our kitchen once, making a web right next to where we step allll the time. We didn't get around to removing it until several weeks later. I am endlessly grateful to those in the comments that talked about the spider portion!! That way I knew it existed and could figure out when those parts were coming and fast forward! I do NOT tolerate spiders!!! Snakes are fine, mice are fine, pretty much anything else is fine, but NO DANG SPIDERS! A huge thanks to the people that mentioned them in the comments!

Yeah, this show makes me very grateful that the most I have to worry about are rattlesnakes, brown recluse, and black widows. We do have the occasional scorpion too, but for the most part those are just very painful. I've seen what Recluse can do and it is far from pretty but at least if you get it treated you may have a very gnarly scar but you'll still have your life.

We had a hermaphrodite kitty about ten years ago. He was a stray we brought in (found him at the beach) and looked like a boy outside. The vets told us when we picked him up from his surgery, that although he had male bits outside, he had overies inside. We should have know, he was calico, a coloration only found on females.

[nods] ages ago, when i was a kid, we had a stray tortoiseshell . we never thought much about it but "she" never had any kittens. my mom just thought they were the greatest cat... all the mousing abilities of a tort and none of the extra babies. lol it wasn't until much later that we actually thought about it and realised that "she" must have been a "they". they were just our sweet neighborhood cat, Scrags the wonder mouser. =)

Not that there's anything wrong with this comment, but just so you know: This episode is three years old. Chris stopped making this show in 2017, so season 8 was his, Lisa's, Andrew's and Tim's last season. After that they switched to a new format with many vets all over Australia (one of them being the woman seen at the very end of all of these video's).
