This is what I called a "Real Man". He never back off from "his words to her Mother" also "Never Married another girl". It's so "delusional" and a "big lie" when a person married someone else while they say "The Partner they loved who passed away was the TRUE LOVE of their live". This is what I called true love. 🙌🙌🙌.

That mother deserves no children. She ruined her daughter's life all because she wanted to not be shamed by her for being promiscious with a young man. Crazy he stayed true to her promise, emili deserved better from the dude and her mother.\ Edit: All I see here is a weak man, who listened to the promise of people who kept him trapped and shackles of country, politics and ethics that were meant to subjugate him and his love. The lesson of this movie is : if you love something get after it and if there are people holding you back, you are not truly free so take back your freedom through whatever means necessary(if you know what I mean).

Ok it's good he kept his promise but if he had told the truth to Emilie she would have accepted him and I believe he should have taken his chance and what did he get by keeping his promise loneliness and regrets

Be careful of what you choose in life because always gives 2 or more options and you can only choose 1 , but very lucky people get a 2nd chance.

I wonder what called have happened if the ml told the woman he loved the truth maybe things would not have been the same so sometimes I ts better to be honest too your loved ones even if you don't end up together at least no one would have any regrets on their past life

My family has also Algerian roots, my great grandfather from my mother side converted to Christianity and changed his name to George but after the independence and the massacre of Bab El Wad he left to France and cut his ties with Algeria. however Algeria had a chance to be like South Africa but the European terrorist group SECRET ARMY did so many crimes that made coexistence between the Europeans and muslims arabs and berbers very hard and Algeria is a failed 3th world country now with lot of resources and no hope.

Bro my family belonged to native Algerian tribe they were forced to convert in muslims by Arabs but they escaped country after country later settling into Egypt and finally in UK. Everybody knows the torture Arabs did for thousands of years in the whole region. Whole of North Africa was once Christian and there were thousands of churches not an single ancient church remained till now all were demolished and turned into mosque. Like the Solomon temple into Al Aqsa

yeah they don't say that after the independence the new state of Algeria was based on ethnic and linguistic racism against half of the population plus the antisemitism which expelled every single Jew in the country. and all Christians of Northen Africa were expelled during Almuravide rule.

first of all France occupied Algeria, during this time the French conducted nuclear experiments which took the lives of 42000 Algerians. They also used electrical torture by attaching wires to peoples body parts. It was during this War 1.5 million Algerians lost their lives. After the colonisation and inhuman treatment from France to Algerian citizens, why would you want anyone that tortured and killed your people to live in your country?

The violence shown in this movie is one-sided, portraying one part as the good and the other as the evil colonizers. The Algerians were colonized before by the Arabs, which forced their religion and language upon them that they now see as their ''ancestral'' tongue and faith, suppressing all minorities and enslaving local populations. They could have shown the Oran massacre of 1962 (5-7 July 1962), ''the mass killing of Pied-Noir and European expatriates living in Algeria by members of the Algerian National Liberation Army. It took place in Oran beginning on the date of Algerian independence, and ended on 7 July 1962''.

Because it is colonial france was indeed evil and more Huh the film only showes 1% of svageness and the evil of colonial army the officers them selves is a shamed of what they did they wrote it all in books and journals from rape even babies the father and brother force to watch the soldiers raping them and killed if they any move mass kills one story told by french officer they grabed entire village and force them to get inside cave and burn them all kills burn villages they burned many villages for revenge of as Algerians defend them selves and killed some soldiers farms burn torture still classified until this day they bombarded cityies destroyed any thing for stupid reasons estimates victims is 10 millions Algerian dead and 1.5 million in independence war and from 1830 the revolutions never stopped france controlled half of algeria by force of course until 1870 and still the war is on in desert until 1926 france controlled all algeria between 1930 and 1940 Algerians start politics to at least make better life for people because france still killing them for joy and fun like sport france begain giving Algerian some air to breath after Algerian soldiers performance at ww1 and ww2 was good but they kill those soldiers to erase any dream in there mind in algeria 1945 Algerians start celebrating with ww2 end and independence after french colonial promised Algerians to join them at war and give us independence but they killed 45000 people in one night i only mentioned this crimes against humanity before revolution in 1954 the after is much worse even in 1960 they used a live Algerian as test for nuclear research project many still struggling even now between 1960 and 1962 france generals and intelligence high ranked who disagree with digol creat terrorist orginzation called (l.o.s) they killed 200000 Algerians by planning bombs assassinations recrute prisnors ect and what i m mentioned is not even half and documents registered almost nothing of there crimes

There’s a difference between colonialism and conquering. The way they were treated by the French was much worse, you actually need to study the history and stop being so defensive. The fact that you expect the colonisers to be given a positive spin really speaks volumes about your delusion. There would be no need for two sides to the story if this was about nazis and their victims.

well they were colonisers, they attacked them in self defense. they had no right to be in their country. and yes the french were 'bad' they brought nothing to algeria but death, destruction, nuclear bombs, cultural erosion, torture and theft resources
