As a surgical assistant at an oral & maxillofacial office, the patients coming out of anesthesia is always so funny. Especially seeing them before! At our office we call the strap that holds ice packs to the jaw the “chin bra” 😂 I’ve seen little kids have the worst sailor mouths ever afterwards Edit: the things patients have said to me when they are waking up have been so crazy I’ve just been in my head like “please please please don’t say that to your parents!!!”

Wow, these are so funny. I got away with local anesthesia both times, so thankfully nothing like that happened and I was able to get in and out by myself 😂 They didn't let me keep me teef though :c My GP recommended to get them taken out one at a time and I'm very happy I listened, it made the process and recovery easier.

I was 17 at the time when I got all 4 wisdom teeth removed. My experience was so painful it got to me on a mental level. Like I sat at the sofa watching TV and I saw a Colgate Toothpaste commercial and people were smiling in it and…it…just…made…the pain worse!

I was one of the oddballs I guess when I had mine done. I woke up in the room after everything was said and done and told my husband that I felt like a chipmunk and slept most of the three or four days after, and couldn't open my mouth very wide. It was also good that I knew what to do afterwards with just starting out as a dental assistant at the time. {also didn't help that I had fainted after getting home and changing the gauze out from the surgery because of not having any food in me}

I know this video was two years, but having my wisdoms removed was an experience. I got a crownectomy, that turned into a full removal which was good, and coming to was me concerned about my wisdoms and asking where they were as a "my first wisdom teeth removal". I cried when I got home and realized they threw them away both on and off the anesthesia 😭

It's been a while since I got my wisdom teeth out and either they use a new type of anesthesia or I had no reaction like this. I woke up in the recovery room, asked if they got all my teeth out (all 4 removed at once) gave a thumbs up after I got a yes and said I need to go to the bathroom.

It has been some time since I had my wisdom teeth removed but I remember after the surgery. I was fairly tired and didn't talk much. I think I fell asleep in the van on the way home. Did go straight to my room and rest on my bed - again think I just went straight to sleep. I do remember a very fuzzy feeling during that time so that may also had been me.

I had my wisdom teeth removed and went to work after. Didn't affect me at all but everyone is different. I lived with a shattered tooth for 3 years... nothing compares to the pain I endured during that time period

Is anyone else scared bc they have to have oral surgery soon, and they might end up letting out something embarrassing? (Btw I have to get surgery to take out a baby tooth that won’t come out, all of my other teeth are permanent) Edit: I might not need the surgery! Thank god that the tooth is wobbly now!

Whenever I get put under general anesthesia, I hobble to the car of whoever is taking me home, sleep on the way home, then hobble to the couch and go to sleep. I never understood these videos. Like, how are you not trying to sleep.

I got my wisdom teeth taken out semi recently. I just remember feeling really high before going under, then waking up in the car. I have no clue how I got to the car cause my dentist was on the 2nd floor. I also wasn't confused or anything after waking up, just a bit groggy. I was even aware enough to check to see if my glasses actually made it back to the car too. The healing process really sucked tho. I have bad reactions to prescription strength nsaids.

I’m not scared from saying something since I’ve already gotten it before and I was in tears! I thought I was dead and everyone around me was in my dream I got up from my hospital bed and I went searching for my sister but she was at home 😂😂😭

Thankfully I was wide awake after anesthesia yesterday after my wisdom teeth removal, but when I first got my anesthesia years ago I was so sleepy but Man the stuff felt sooo good like the best nights sleep I ever had

I remember when I was on the anesthesia and I saw a sign that said free kittens and I wanted one so bad!! But my grandpa said that we already had a dog so he said no. And I said get rid of the dang dog then.

I had both removed several years ago at the same time and I still remember mom telling me that I said some crazy and. . .odd things when I woke. She also said "I had a temper tantrum as if I was a 4 year old" and that even the Orthodontist was cracking up. 🤣
