Evangelical pastor here: I often refer to the Orthodox Study Bible notes when I'm preparing for my sermons. Most of the comments and notes are Christ-focused, devotional, insightful and full of good applications. Remember, the editors and authors are summarising hundreds of years of Bible commentary and are drawing from some of the church's greatest theologians. For a comparison, I've also got Catholic Study Bible and its footnotes are dry, scholarly, speculative and never mention Jesus in the OT. They seem more inspired by Protestant liberalism and secular theology than by their church's rich heritage.

I have a hardcover copy. It's the only way to get the NKJV with the Deuterocanonicals/Apocrypha.

Thanks for explaining about it I'll stick with King James Bible with a Strong's concordance bible dictionary in Greek and Hebrew and Smiths Bible dictionary.Those are like Gold and precious pearls to me. Revelation 2&3 explains about the 7 churches.Learned Alot from The shepherds chapel, Eagle wings ministries, Smyrna Christian Church in Kokomo, Just Thoughts studies,E.Raymond Capt.His first name seems a mystery he explains where the Lost tribes of Israel went.Always read for yourself only way to know if someone is teaching Truth or deceiving many like rapture theory.The shepherds chapel on politics, 4 hidden dynasties, signs, parable of the fig tree, Antichrist, The mark of the beast, rapture theory, lost tribes of Israel found, kentucky stones, Bat Creek stones, horse's of the Bible, ship's of God, Ababdon and Apollyon, 3 Earth ages, and many more.Always read for yourself.
