Oru Yathramozhi (transl. An adieu) is a 1997 Indian Malayalam-language drama film directed by Prathap Pothan, based on a story by Priyadarshan and a screenplay by John Paul. It stars Sivaji Ganesan and Mohanlal. It was produced by V. B. K. Menon and distributed by Anugraha Release. The film's initial release date was 15 August 1996, but the release was postponed and finally graced theatres only in 1997.

1-Shivaji Ganesan (as Periyavar) and Thilakan (as Adhruman) scene - the most natural acting by and from Shivaji Ganesan when Shivaji Ganesan character first silently asks Tilakan character with a stentorian look without any verbalisation the purpose of his visit. 2- Shivaji Ganesan and Mohanlal in the mutually departing last send-off and see-off scene- In this particular scene, Shivaji Ganesan's first- on the railway platform -'acting' is most natural and from the step inside the train the 'histrionic' acting- In this one last scene Shivaji Ganesan 'performs' most tellingly 'naturally' and then inside the train tellingly ' histrionically. In one scene itself Shivaji Ganesan acts 'most naturally' and 'tellingly histrionically'.In both the sub-scenes, Shivaji Ganesan's eyes, face, lips, hands,dialogue delivery, diction and intonation and body-language effortlessly and seamlessly traverse both 'natural acting' and 'histrionic acting'. This last one scene is enough for Shivaji Ganesan to be bestowed with Bharat Award for Best Actor. 'Form' might be temporary but 'Class' is permanent - that is Shivaji Ganesan .

@@pranavbinoy4405 ഇതിൽ ശിവാജി സാർ നല്ല acting തന്നെയാണ്. പൊതുവായും Over acting ആണ് അദ്ദേഹതിന്റേത്. പക്ഷെ ഈ സിനിമയിലെ acting തരക്കേടില്ല. പണ്ടത്തെ കാലത്ത് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടപെട്ടവരും അംഗീകരിച്ചവരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. പിന്നെ ഇതിൽ അഭിനയിക്കുമ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ഹൃദയ സംബദ്ധമായ അസുഖം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. നെഞ്ചിൽ peace maker വെച്ചിട്ടാണ് അഭിനയിച്ചതെന്നു സംവിധായകൻ പ്രതാപ് പോത്തൻ ഒരു ഇന്റർവ്യുവിൽ പറയുന്നുണ്ട്.

When two characters perform, necessarily the acting has to be contrasting.In the scene when Nedumudi Venu character informs Shivaji Ganesan character in the most 'telling' (not natural) manner that Mohanlal character is his son, Shivaji Ganesan character gets shocked and disturbed and then asks Nedumudi Venu character to leave and that 'asking' should be in a 'more' power-packed and not in a feeble manner.It is here Shivaji Ganesan scales up his acting calibre. Andha Naal, Rangoon Radha,Thirumbi Paar, Koondu Kili, etc., on one hand and Thevar Makan,Muthal Mariyaathai, etc., on the other hand are films which eloquently stand testimony to Shivaji Ganesan's anti-hero subtlest acting and natural acting calibre.
