Yes, Ganesh is popular. There is a Ganesh Shrine next to the Trimurti Shrine infront of Central World too and also infront of Union Mall. You can also see a Hanuman 3D LED billboard at Siam Square. Hanuman & Ravana(Thotsakan) giant guard statues are there at Grand Palace and at Suwarnabhoomi Intl. airport (churning of the milk ocean statue also there).

Don Don Donki @ MBK Center is a Japanese mega store where you can buy high quality Japanese products. It replaced Tokyu department store last year. There is a nice Japanese restaurant on the left side once you cross the pedestrian bridge which connects Siam Discovery to Siam Center and it's called 'Tonkatsu Wako'. I'd recommend Katsu(Japanese cutlet) from there. Try it once.
