This is one of the reasons why Robert Fisk's interviews with OBL are the finest, Fisk spoke and wrote fluent Arabic, and reported the Truth about western foreign policy in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

I feel like that's probably part of the reason that Osama bin laden accepted the interview it's because of the fact that Fisk speaks through in Arabic and he want to talk to somebody that understood his native language instead of having things be poorly translated in another language he wanted to say what he was saying and have actually be understood

Misleading title implies this is the interview. Instead a few seconds of Miller talking about the interview. Integrity and veracity of the reporter is reasonably questioned due to the impediments of viewing the actual interview.

This was before Bin Laden became a threat. This was before the 1998 embassy bombings. The FBI had a profile on OBL, but they were still trying to figure out whether he was going to be a problem.

I was 11 when this interview was aired. I remember it SO distinctly watching it on a Friday night. I remember about a year later he was highlighted in time magazine for kids. After 9/11 I thought how in the world did a journalist find him but the CIA could not. In around 2000 there were comedians on TV literally joking about this.

I could not understand what they meant about “expensive” and how is it that there is “no following questions.” This is beyond bizarre. I saw the interview dubbed in English, bin laden was talking and their were no questions that was asked.

They did know him, he comes from a very wealthy family, the Bush's were friends with his family...they also gave them weapons to fight the Soviets before Osama and others turned on the U.S., actually they always hated the U.S. but they sure would take our money and weapons, while they lived in caves...
