Three-division world champion Emanuel “Vaquero” Navarrete will defend his WBO junior lightweight world title against former two-division world champion Oscar Valdez in an all-Mexican duel Saturday, August 12 at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Navarrete and Valdez seek to etch their names among the celebrated catalog of Mexican rivalries that includes Marco Antonio Barrera-Erik Morales, Ruben Olivares-Chucho Castillo and Rafael Marquez-Israel Vazquez.
Navarrete-Valdez will be broadcast live on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+ at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

I think Oscar has all the tools and experience to beat vaquero...but something tells me vaquero is going to land that sneaky uppercut...also if vaquero comes in out of shapen again, that could cost him the fight cause Oscar has stamina deep in the later rounds...going to be a good fight..going to watch the AJ fight as well but this one really intrigues me..

No, Oscar is as Mexican as anyone. He competed in the Olympics as a Mexican, he speaks Spanish fluently, and more importantly, he considers him Mexican and fights in the tradition of mexican boxing. He always had named only Mexican Fighters as inspiration.

Based on my objective observation of the two, I opine that this is a 50 - 50 odds fight. Yes, its gonna be a war. Still, i pick Valdez for his more experience, but i wont be surprised if it ends up otherwise.

I can see this fight ending like the Berchelt fight, I think Oscar's movement and power shots will be too much for Navarrete. Emanuel is a tough fighter but his balance/footwork is a level or 2 below Oscar.

I did Those high intensity methods (H.I.I.T) when I played soccer They do wonders to your body & put you in supreme shape 💨💨💨 I remember playing a full soccer game & still feeling fresh towards the end of the game, I could recover faster, sprint faster, etc, Soccer & boxing use the same body mechanics to succeed, all the power comes from your legs & core 💨🔥

so what's your prediction bro i've been watch both these guys fight since 2018 i have a feeling it's going to be somewhat like valdez vs berchelt back in early 2021 when berchelt just had covid and was terribly weight drained and he lost bad but i think navarrete can upset oscar but i also think valdez can time and counter him and stop him towards the end what you think

Valdez is a great fighter, he just needs to stay true to his brand. He could have really gave Stevenson a better fight but he changed his style. I'm excited for this fight.

Oscar's style couldn't do anything with Shakur !!! In fact, you heard Oscar say to fight smarter. Like Shakur did to him . He tried to pressure Shakur. Shakur out boxed Oscar and almost knocked Oscar out of the ring . This fight is more of a Valdez fight. I guy that will stay in front of Oscar .

Was Stevenson the better fighter that night absolutely. but in my opinion Valdez tried to out box the boxer and the pressure he applied seemed held back a bit to my view. Valdez still gets a lot of flack for that positive test. If he can go on to win some big fights, time may heal wounds. But the fact remains regardless of what happens Saturday, Valdez is very beatable. Elite guys don’t struggle with dudes like Genesis Servania. I think Liam Wilson is better than Servania
