Boxing has the most casual and low IQ fan base at times. Shakur spent most of this fight in the pocket and was walking down the guy or fighting well moving back. He hurt the opponent at least 2x and yes, he should have stepped on the gas more and stopped him but that fight was a master class in defense, distance control, a great jab, and body work. He never had to work hard last night. Maybe a guy like Tank will force it out of him.

Even though Shakur fights the way he does against mid-level and top mid-level competition, he still more than likely outboxes Tank Davis in a TYPICAL 22 ft by 22 ft Las Vegas-sized ring (20' x 20' or 18' x 18' ft ring would be a different situation). Shakur was virtually untouched by De los Santos and De los Santos has relatively fast feet. So would a Shakur vs. Tank fight involve Shakur "touching and running" for all 12 rounds? 1000%, Could Tank still catch Shakur? Possibly, but it's not the most likely outcome. I don't see how people can't see this. More than likely Shakur Stevenson outboxes Tank "EASILY". Not "easily" in the sense of "effortlessly", but "easily" in the sense achieving a clear unanimous decision win for the judges to score.

I am here to give credit to Artem Harutyunyan. He fought well, he stood in the pocket, he made Shakur Stevenson a retreater for the majority of the fight and tolerated all them low blows in a fight where he walked in to boos but left with a smile. I will say this: Stevenson assumes no accountability for his inactions, and has excuses for everything. The common denominator for the boos and the fans walking out early is the man from Newark. 🖖🏽
