i was just watching videos when all of a sudden a wilde oscar appeared!

I do not know how I have allowed myself to be ignorant of Oscar Wilde's life and works. It is shameful of me. Thank you for uploading these series; they will be the beginning of my love for his works and for the unconventionally lovely man himself.

Because he fell in love with a man named Douglas. And Douglas' father reported him. He went to jail and in jail he got a damage that killed him. But, I have also heard that he got a serious ear infection, and died under surgery. Pardon me if my english is poor, but it is not my native language.

Well I read it in a rather reputable biography but perhaps it is just speculation! However I'm sure the experience of attending Oxford University in those days was more of a formal affair than it is now. It's probably true that students had to conform to the (all-be-it-new) Received Pronunciation of the time as it was part of a gentleman's education which was probably standardised and generic. No modern anti-establishemnt students with dreadlocks and estuary accents like there are today!
