With regards to the sounds, they are slowly updating each gun as they get access to better sounds, it's mostly a budget issue.

With modding allowing the fullest customization and control ever in a game. This is not your average restricted modding kit. Certain tweaks were intentionally not done because the community will decide how they want it and then share it and then be involved in the development.

Some rifles have no recoil and the sound is really flat, but the gun models and animations look amazing and it looks really promising. I’ll have to play it for sure

this is THE game to support right now, it's bare bones but with it being community driven and really made to be for us enthusiasts in the milsim tactical shooter community, frankly i'm excited to see where we're at in a year. they're making their money almost entirely on the backs of people who WANT to support, so patreon etc, it is free free, like it's a whole game, nothings locked off, and the future expansions you can buy now will eventually be free as well, so again.. this is THE game to support, if we wanna show what we want out of our games to be in the future this is how we do it. we make it ourselves and we support those who are. as for the name it's from a fictional battle they made up for the game, it makes sense in context. that being a 1991 war in the middle east where americans were..well a harsh doorstop against soviet aggression. not a real war but still it's less weird when you think about it lol. they were stopping the russians from just inviting themselves into the middle east.

Looks pretty cool, especially for this early stage of development. I was hoping they'd make the suppressed shots a bit louder, at least on the sniper rifle. Since this is one of the things video games and movies are getting repeatedly wrong. Other than that I'm curios to see this game improve. And you're right, the name is a bit weird 😄

It can be hard to tell in gameplay but the AI actually do have a squad system, if the squad leader or too many members die they will retreat and regroup.

As a newb, I could not tell when I killed anything, lol.. Just played it, kind of like Arma Reforger with mods though, I don't like to compare any games. Played about or owned 20 shooters, so they all had some pointers :) Thanks for the point fire tip, I suck at aiming, its got to be these laser mouses!

Had a chance to hop on one of the multiplayer servers, if I wasn't so busy with work deadlines I'd stay for more than an hour, it's that good for a first release. Weekend's already planned for this.

i'm very excited for OHD, sure the name is wierd (though the Iran-Iraq war had some wierd choices of names for operations so we'll cut that some slack), it's pretty awesome to see a game with a huge modding platform big enough for people to make amazing mods (we already have the Viet Cong, Somali pirates, vietnam era ANZAC forces, 90s Delta Force and Navy SEALs, Wagner PMCs and Ukraine), since Squad now has microtransactions alot of people have been leaving for BF2 Project Reality and looking forward to BF3 Project Reality and OHD btw Oscar, in case you're confused by what does Blue meant by "Free", the game is free though it is completely funded through patreon (which means it's also optional if you wanna donate or not), the FN FAL and AS VAL is my personal favourites too :), btw for the vietnam war segment the M40A1 is actually a hunting/varmint variant of the R700 modified by the USMC also can't wait for performance mods that make it possible to play on my potato laptop haha

as the game is now, its meh, it is really gonna rely on mods, but even right now there are no modded servers populated probably because there is a bug with downloading mods, and you have to do an admittedly easy work around, but most people arent willing.

Am I the only one that has a low frame rate even with low settings ? I'm running it on RTX 2060

I played it... its super mediocre tbh. There are better games already out there that do the exact same thing. Like if you want to play WW2, just play Hell let Loose and its WAY more feature rich and fun than this. Don't get me wrong, its cool what they are doing with mod support, but like... idk its not good enough as is yet. Not even close. Maybe another 5 years of development and they could make it robust enough to be competitive.

Owning all FPS games pretty much, yeah no i can't get with this, maybe for broke people who can't buy HLL,Squad etc. But other than that, just nah, be back to try again in 2 years.
