The GoStream Deck from Osee is a 4 input HDMI switcher that competes directly with the Blackmagic Atem Mini Pro. The GoStream has many features that are found in the more expensive Atem Mini Extreme at a non-extreme price. There are many things to like about the GoStream Deck. As of this recording, there is no companion desktop software, which is the biggest negative about this switch. Osee says they are working on it. If you are looking for a full featured HDMI switcher for your live productions, video recordings, and any kind of media production, this is a great option for you.

I definitely recommend upgrading to the latest firmware:
Notes from latest firmware:
V1.0.3 Release Note:
1. Fixed the issue of occasional out of synchronization problems between video and audio in long-duration recorded video material to the SD card.
2. Fixed the issue of occasional abnormal audio in recorded
video materials.
3. Enhanced the video recording capability that allows the frame rate of recorded videos to match the output frame-rate set by the GoStream Deck.
4. Fixed the issue of out-of-sync streaming.

Thank you very much for the review. I have the Mini Pro because the Extreme was too expensive for the one feature I wanted: The Super Source. I added this Osee deck and it was worth the $300 for the Super Source. By the way, if you tweak the options in Super Source, you can actually have five sources, not just the three they offer. Thanks again for the video.

The pros outweighs the cons but i will only talk about the cons (In my opinion it's the best switcher to have and i recommend it 100% over atem mini series but i am hoping that they have the cons fixed and an SDI version of the switcher) cons: 1.entering the streaming key into the menu is difficult using the menu scroll knob to navigate through the letters one after the other. 2. there is no colon (:) symbol in the keyboard layout that pops up when trying to enter the url and streaming key. 3. there is no available settings to configure video output bitrate for recording and streaming except low, medium and high. 4. streaming status is not clear enough to decsribe the internet and stream health whether the bandiwth is low or internet speed is high or connectivity is lost. 5. inability to choose to record individual inputs or scources. 6. inability to know which hdmi output port (out 1 or out 2) is program or multiview when using it for the first time. they should have labeled it multiview and program and then after the user can change by routing whatever signal he may need to pass through the two of the outputs . 7. the switcher is fanless therefore making it over heat beneath the device. 8. audio inputs doesn't have much bass sound nevertherless it has clear and neat sound. 9. buying NDI license key is restricted to one serial number gostream device and cannot be transfered to another device even when the NDI licensed gostream device is spoilt. You will have to buy another NDI key for new a gostream device you may purchase to replace the faulty or spoilt one. 10. inability to know which USB type-c port (USB 1 or USB 2) is for webcam input or for uvc ouput - thus a connection to your pc when using it for the first time. they should have labeled it webcam input and webcam output. the USB 1 is the ucv output webcam output that goes into your Vmix or OBS laptop and the USB 2 is the webcam input which acts as the aux for the 5th input in addition to your 4 hdmi inputs.

i just bought the osee gostream. for the price point it blows the atem mini out of the water for all it does. I love blackmagic switchers but this fit a need at a price that is affordable for almost anyone. it fits in a backpack and can be travelled anywhere. I wish it had at least 1 sdi input so i didnt have to use up a converter for my camera but the cost of a basic blackmagic converter is nothing compared to what this switcher gives you. I dont really think you need a pc interface for this it works fine without it. the menu structure is pretty easy to use. for me the audio not have a ton of processing is not the end of the world. i do live and hybrid events and have an audio guy that just feeds me a signal so he or she will be doing all the processing before it gets to me. i would say this, if they would in anyway happen to come out with an 8 input (4hdmi, 4 sdi) version of this with just a tiny bit more to the super source, like scaling an input rather than masking, i would buy it in a heartbeat. I also incorporate my tv studio hd as a camera subswitch.

Thanks for the visit. I agree with everything you have said. I still haven't used it for a live production, only personal things, but I think I will use it for the first time in my next event. They did fix a few issues with a few firmware updates. As far as the PC interface is concerned, I will say it depends on what you are needing it for. I think it's a matter of convenience for me, but also the potential for automation is there if they open up the api or use some kind of protocols like OSC. Again, these are more nice to have or advanced things where I honestly don't use as much. I just like the potential is there. They did reach out to me saying that they are releasing their desktop companion software soon, so I will be doing an updated video. But back to your points... definitely an awesome product right out of the box.

Built-in media playback is huge, and at this price point it makes this a complete no-brainer purchase over the ATEM. Heck, even the constellation models don't have a simple card slot for loading media. It's insane. Supersource is another HUGE benefit here - you have to spend $700 to get it on the ATEM. That's more than double the price of the switcher!!! You didn't even mention the T-bar, which is yet another really welcome addition. A lot of your quibbles are so minor - things like default settings which might be annoying but are a simple change once and forget it thing make them trivial. The menus didn't even look that bad, to be honest... yes the ATEM has more powerful software but means you need to buy an entire computer and lug it around with you to access it. That's not a plus in my book. The only advantage I see the ATEM really has is the audio chain, but running audio through any of these cheap plastic switchers is the worst thing you can do. Buy a really inexpensive standalone mixer with proper XLR inputs, physical sliding faders, and get your audio right to begin with. The other thing I question is stability - it can be hard to trust your show to an unknown brand when there's no backup plan. Time will still tell how these things hold up. All that said, competition is good for the marketplace and at least compared to the ATEM that this thing competes directly with, it looks to me like the obvious choice.

Excellent review and I agree with you about the audio settings being sub par to the ATEM Mini Pro. If they had software that included similar audio features to the ATEM, then I think it would blow the ATEM mini out of the water.

I'd like to try it, but they don't send it to Italian KZfaqrs.... I have Atem pro, the problem is having to go through the computer for the settings when it could be broadcast without the need for a computer. While the Osee has a built-in menu, the Osee also has the ability to stream and record at the same time. How's this feature going?

You can swipe program and preview in the menu. There are some scalers, not too many though. No need for desktop software., it was design that way. The NDI license just came out under $35, but some dealers include it for free.
@EverydayTechTV
@EverydayTechTV 7 ай бұрын
Yup… I know about the program and preview swipe. I mentioned that in the video. I think they should have had it swapped by default was my point. As far as desktop software, I know that you can operate everything within the menu but it does limit you to using the GoStream in a limited way. When you have a desktop software and you also open up the api, you open a whole world of functionality as it relates to automation. I already have the NDI license already but have not got into testing it out fully yet. Thanks for stopping by.

Could you you see the preview of all the connected cameras on Vmix? or do you have to use their software?? also if you send stereo audio from the camera via hdmi, are you able to control 2 separate channels on the switcher? or would it work on Vmix, programing the audio buttons to control vmix?

Unfortunately... the AFV button is not a universal button. So, if I want to enable AFV for Input 1, I have to press In 1 in the audio section and then press the AFV for that particular input. I hope that makes sense. I agree... it's a great deal, but I would say, very dependent on what you are needing it for.
@daltonrandall4348
@daltonrandall4348 6 ай бұрын
@@EverydayTechTVThat's how you want to do it. AFV is very much a per-channel thing. Maybe you want to keep talking while a slide is up, but you don't want the slide input to inadvertently play audio if it isn't in the program channel. AFV for the slide, always on for you. Universal only is terrible for AFV.

Hey all! I recently got the deck and after successfully connecting my sony fx3 to the osee deck via an HDMI cable the first time around, now it doesn't register on the switcher. Wondering if anyone else has had this issue, and if so, what's the solve was?
@EverydayTechTV
@EverydayTechTV 2 ай бұрын
It could be a number of factors but I would say, the number one thing to check is the resolution coming out of the FX3. I had the same issues with my Sony A6500 & 6400 cameras. The GoStream can only handle up to 1080p. The Atem Mini on the other hand, even though in only outputs at 1080p, it can handle all kind of inputs and does a good job of handling different kinds of resolutions. On my Sony cameras I'm able to keep my video resolution at 4K as far as recording and change the HDMI output to 1080p.

I didn't mean to ignore it. The Osee actually takes it a further step. You can actually stream out to 3 places simultaneously. I think I briefly mentioned it or it might have not made the cut. I am planning to do a follow up on the Osee, especially as it relates to streaming too.
