Oshkosh Airventure 2022 | Approach & Landing

Join my son, Maverick, and I on the last 5 miles as we fly the Fisk Arrival and land at OSH. Just days after his first solo flight at the age of 16, we get to experience the greatest aviation show on earth together.

Way to go! I’ve heard flying into Oshkosh can be very stressful but you made it look so smooth…Right after you nailed the landing and they asked where y’all were from it would have been cool if Maverick answered back. They probably had no idea a 16 yr old landed it.

Yea you're right! I should have let him answer that. He did most of the radio communication the entire 1700 mile journey. I guess I got excited and stole that one from him, ha. Thanks for watching.

I'm fortunate enough to have done this several times over the years and it never ceases to amaze me what an impressive operation the whole thing is. @@FreedomFlight1 Me and some friends were planning on flying up this year but as it goes we just settled for the easier drive. I start instructing at the end of this year so I will hopefully have an opportunity to fly up in a clients plane for Airventure 2023!!

Missed page 17 of the Airventure NOTICE? "• Student pilot training and student solos are not permitted at OSH during the AirVenture period."

He’s flying with his instructor as clearly stated in the video description. The student is mirroring his instructor on the approach and landing sequence. The Airmanship displayed in the video was cool, calm and collected. There’s no need to overreact here. Nothing in this video would be deemed as unsafe by anyone watching it. He put it down on the Green Dot as instructed in a safe and proficient manner. We’re trying to grow Aviation and not detract from it👍

Hi Paul, thanks for watching. Rest assured, I was the PIC and just having a great time enjoying it with my son this year. Wasn't it great to see so many young pilots in attendance? I suspect this year set records for young aviators in attendance - exactly what we need to prime the pipeline of our future. Thanks again for watching!
