Oshkosh Fly-In & Adventures...Kid Style!!

Күн бұрынEAA Oshkosh AirVenture Fly-In....Kid Style for my son's (Toccoa) first major airshow. We wake up early and depart Chicago Aurora (ARR) VFR, get flight following, Class Bravo clearance, say hi to a controller fan of the channel and then start the NOTAM'ed arrival procedures into Oshkosh.
The ATIS clearly stated the entry point was "The Green Lake Transition". The well documented procedure, and said MANY time by the controller, is 90 knots at 1800 feet or 135 knots at 2300 feet. A V-Tail Bonanza cuts in front of us at Ripon which was clearly in violation of the procedures in effect but I didn't care as he slid safely 1/2 mile in front of me. The annoying /potentially dangerous part is that he then proceeded to slow down and not follow the NOTAM or the controllers. Luckily it was relatively light traffic and I was able to slow and stay behind without S-turns and we all landed safely so off to enjoy the show with Toccoa.

Kevin, I will be 80 in February and have seen ,not only my own child, but my friend's children , born, grow up , marry and have children of their own. The cycle of life, so seize the day, age sneaks up on us before we realize it! I may not see your boy achieve adulthood, but even in the short while watching this channel, he is showing wonderful promise. Best wishes to you'all. Cheers, Rik Spector

I think he has the potential for a career in public relations. He's advertising your merchandise, promoting other pilots live stream and showing how much fun can be had at an air show. It's always great to see you flying with your little guy. Awesome video. Thank you for sharing.

Kevin that was a great video. You are so good with your son especially when there was a lot going on...What a pleasure to see...really need your head on a swivel flying into Osh and other shows you did a nice job. Loved seeing Jamie as well...even if it was on the small screen! cool seeing Martin. met him at Sun & Fun this year and was embarrassed that I forgo t his name momentarily. What a nice guy he is. Nothing like a good airshow for dad and son bonding and this short clip was fantastic not only memories but a great video. I think he will want to do more with you and before you know it he will be sharing a beer with you all!!

Great videp, brought back memories of flying with my Dad when I was a kid in the 1950s. That started a lifelong love of flying. I'm sure your boy will do the same, he sure was having fun. Although I was born in Wisconsin, I lived most of my life in Arizona, and, though I used to fly back there occasionally, I never made it to Oshkosh, usually due to work interfering. In 1986 or 87, we had everything ready to go to fly my T-6 to Oshkosh for the 50th anniversary gathering of the T-6 at OSH, but some client emergencies came up late in the day before leaving, scrubbing the mission. I hope to fly my 310C up there next year. Enjoy flying with your son, he's really having fun with you (and vice versa).

Dat boy of yours is so open and funny. Really looks like he enjoys hisself flying. If ever get in the Central Louisiana I’d like to take a flight with you. I noticed a First Air Cavalry Trooper. I was in First Cavalry before I got out of Army in 1973 after 10 years. Now 100% Disabled Vietnam Veteran trying to enjoy life. Been a Sub for awhile now and really enjoy your flights! Have fun!!!

I just watched your video...while you and your son were walking around I caught a glimpse of an A-1 Skyraider on the flight line...my late father-in-law USAF Lt. Col. Jerald Ransom flew 3 or 4 tours in an A-1 in Vietnam...he was the 1st American pilot to fly 100 missions over N. Vietnam...he flew 326 missions over S.E. Asia...and was the Wing commander for an A-1 Squadron...he also flew 35 missions as the navigator in a B-17 over Europe...he also flew in Korea...I think in an A-1 🇺🇲🎖...love your channel

That was my wife and I in my plane that he saw at 11:39. I remember seeing 771BC on my ADS-B and saw a cool silhouette of Kevin’s plane as he made the right turn 500 ft above us.
