Various warbird aircraft arrive on runway 36 on the opening Sunday at EAA AirVenture 2021 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

The Experimental Aircraft Association's AirVenture is a massive fly-in, convention and airshow held at Wittman Regional Airport each July. The event sees more than 10,000 aircraft of all types - general aviation, home-built, vintage, warbird, ultralights, and modern military - and hundreds of thousands of spectators over the course of a week.
During the event, the airport claims the title of the world's busiest airport with famously busy arrivals and departures. It is standard procedure to have multiple aircraft taking off or landing on the same runway at the same time! Our arrival and departure videos try to capture a fraction of the daily action, including radio communications between air traffic controllers and pilots.

Those P-51s remind me of the ones our own Uruguayan Air Force had in the fifties, purchased from the U.S. They used to fly overhead at tremendous altitude when I was in my teens...I am 83 now.

Went to the EAA airshow in Oshkosh in the mid 80's, still remember it well! Upon nearing the venue from miles away you could see a LARGE number of aircraft continually circling the site flying round and round. Great advertisement and guide to the location. El Mirage, Arizona

1:05 - Gunfighter! It was parked in a hangar next to my dad's C-152 Texas Taildragger (his STC) in the late 70s or early 80s in San Antonio. Dad knew the owner/pilot, who let me climb around it as long as I was careful. Which I was! That fostered my love of the P-51, which is my favorite airplane. I'll fly one at Stallion 51 Corp. someday soon.

Very nice! Lots of polished aluminum today. The P-51, F-86, B-25, and T-28 all rubbed up to a mirror finish. Getting closer to Air Venture 2022. I can't wait.

Fun Fact: The B-25 has a free-castering nose wheel. No direct input from the pedals to the nosewheel

Anyone who has flown or in any of these warbirds understands just how demanding and hairy flying the circuit, landing and even taxi is. When that Corsair pilot was standing on the brakes I was grinding my teeth! We have a local one "lost it" and that is one huge prop. The vis over the nose is horrible for all of em but especially nose up and taxi.
