I was on a school trip to Disneyland in 1969. My friends and I were listening to the Righteous Brothers and I was standing next to the older Osmond brothers. My girlfriend and I were arguing.. I said they were the Osmond Brothers, and she said they were the Cowsills. I said, " I'm going to settle this, and I asked this Lady, who was with them if they were the Osmond Brothers, and she said, " why yes they are, dear, and I'm there Mother, Olive, would you like to meet them?" I said, " of course!". It was so exciting for me a 13 year old girl, who watched them on the Andy Williams show each week, to meet them. But, there Mother was the kindest and sweetest Mom. She told me that Donnie, Marie and Jimmy were in the hotel room with their father. Several months later, while visiting my best girlfriend in Santa Rosa, I met and ice skated with Charles Shultz (creator Charlie Brown). That was my best year!!!!

Even though they were before my time there the reason for my great parents so thank you Jesus Hallelujah glory to God. ❤

I been a fan since 1972 i loved them then and now my mum just looked like mrs osmond my mum passed away in 2005 a year after mrs osmond died RIP

They must have been the proudest parents knowing they raised 9 very honest, wholesome, respectful and loving children.

Love the Osmonds, since 1970. They'll never be another like them! So glad that I got to meet all of them including their parents, lovely people.

my family and the osmonds, go back a long way. it was thru my aunt and uncle that got mr george and ms olive together. my uncle and mr george were both muscially inclined together. i grew up watching them on tv and would go by their studio in UTAH but never got the chance to actually meet them in person. they are truly a wonderful & amazing family with such beautiful voices to share with the world. so grateful for the treasured memories of listening, watching and singing of their family.

I think it is very difficult to find a couple of the ordinary father and mother who could raise such a big family with very high qualities like Father George and Mother Olive. I really do appreciate the Osmond Father and Mother. As I do really appreciate all the members of the Osmonds. How wonderful your family had an impact in their lives. My own father sang barbershop quartet with George Sr. and I was lucky enough to get to meet and know a few of the family. Virl has become a dear friend of mine and I love him dearly. Just a plain old good family.

On a Behnd The Music Documentary, Olive questioned George's Disciplinary Methods and he said "If We Don't Correct The Children Mother Society Will". That was heavy. He was strict and by today's standards "abusive" with his perfectionism but he was lucky. His Family never forgot they were a Family First A Band Second. They are all still alive. The Jacksons weren't as lucky.

I agree. I mean it is one thing when they were kids but they were the same kind of parents as adults when their kids were grown. I am a "kid" their kids' age (the 2nd Generation age that is) between David and Don Osmond in age and I can hardly say I respect their fathers' generation with respect to life but I absolutely respect Donny/Jay etc for how they conduct themselves.

Olive Osmond was one of Elvis' confidantes - no kidding. And as far as them being a perfect family, they were not. Donny and some of the rest of them have admitted that the image was not the reality.
