Osprey Bird Photography - Sigma 150-600mm Lens Photo Walk

Went out with my Sigma 150-600mm to find an osprey nest. I totally lucked out with a beautiful sighting of one of the mates eating a fish it just caught. It was amazing to witness the osprey sitting on the perfect branch, feasting on its catch and enjoying the views. Back in the nest, the other osprey was waiting to have some of the fish and eventually got to have some. I didn't get to see the osprey catching the fish but I did get to witness it flying with it in the air and landing in the tree right in front of me. Then along came a raven to try and steal some of the delicious fish.
It was an absolutely beautiful day and like the osprey with the fish, it was quite the treat.

OMG Your videos are always so inspirational!! Thank you for sharing them with us! Quick question, did you fin any considerable difference in the 100 mm in common between the 55-250 and the 150-600 lenses?

Thank you. Yes, I really love this lens. Definitely an upgrade and happy with the results. I still have the 55-250 but will be using the Sigma more often.

Thank you. I used AF Servo Tracking and sometimes I tried the spot autofocus but I preferred the tracking.

How do you attach the strap to the M50 while do handheld photography? Did you attach it to the M50 or to the Sigma Lens?

What do you mean? I attach the Sigma lens to the M50 using my Viltrox Adapter.

@@shaydlens sorry for my bad english😅, I mean what type of strap do you use for the camera? Or u not use any strap, just hold the camera without any strap while doing handheld shot. That the first question. 2nd question, now im using viltrox speedbooster adapter for my M50, if i want to use Sigma 150-600mm, did i need to buy new adapter or can use the viltrox speedbooster that i already have.. Your footage 4K or FHD ? i have canon m50 and i always confused about 4K or 1080

FHD is my camera settings, 1920 x 1080 59.94 fps. Good to play around with the settings, I did 4K before but preferred these settings.

Great shots! Specially the raven and osprey one. The fish delivery story is cute. I don’t imagine that lens was easy to handle on the m50 without a tripod. Does the 55-250 balance well adapted on the m50 when handheld?

Thank you! I used the tripod 90% of the time in this video, since I was lucky the osprey was sitting there for a while. But I do use the sigma handheld in general a lot, it can get tiring after a while but for the most part I’m usually fine. It’s when I have to lift it high up to shoot a bird flying that I can struggle and would like a gimbal. The 55-250 does balance well on the m50. The sigma 150-600 here also balances fine - no issues I’ve had.

@@shaydlens Thank you! As I’m considering this setup. EF-M 55-200 is more compact but not available where I am. Also the EF-S lens is longer and faster.
