Everyone knows the Cobra Kai Karate Kid connection is exceptionally strong - just ask Courtney Henggeler - but there were some ideas floated around that didn’t quite make the final cut - including a disturbing clip featuring Ralph Macchio’s Daniel LaRusso and William Zabka’s Johnny Lawrence from back in the day.
There are a host of deleted scenes from Cobra Kai Season 1 and Cobra Kai Season 2 that paint a much different picture of the show. Every Cobra Kai fight scene is meant to push the show forward, but just how far is too far?
Why did the producers ask Peyton List, Mary Mouser, Tanner Buchanan and Xolo Mariduena to tone it down? Was it the Cobra Kai school fight?

Unless you know something the rest of us do not, the last word from NetFlix was a 4th season being okayed before the 3rd season airs in January. No word on a season 5.

Well there are different Dojos. The All Valley tournament at the end of S1 there were a few different schools like Topanga, All Star Karate, Xtreme Karate, and a couple others.

He wasn't talking about different Karate dojos, he was referring to different styles of martial arts not being featured on the show. i.e. Jujutsu, Tai Quan Dao, Tai Chi, etc.

3:26: Did anyone catch the fact that the ju-jitsu instructor said "just call me Todd" to his student when he said "you tell him Master Todd" whilst Daniel-Kreese-Johnny's students all call them "sensei?" Also, notice how none of the other dojo's (I am guessing the All Valley Tournament shows more than one) actually do not interfere with the rivalry? Kreese: "Because they are weak and liars. They don't teach anything to true fighters." Daniel: "Wait, what? They should keep out of it; our students are the ones trashing the place." Johnny: "Whatever, La Russo. Bunch of pansies know the real deal when they see it. Probably pissed their pants." Daniel: "Didn't that Todd guy give you a black eye?" Johnny: "Yeah, I had to give him a lift to the hospital. My only real issue is that cobra Kai turned from a karate show to a teen drama in season 2. Kind of hope they tone that part down a little and focus a little more on kreece, Lawrence and laruso

I'm not sure I need to see a different version of Anthony, some kids actually live for video games. I feel we are def in for different dojos. Since Johnny lost Cobra Kai, I see him joining forces with Daniel and eventually becoming something different, a combination of Cobra Kai and Miyagi Do but a different name better suit for both senseis to coexist .

Funny you should mention tripping while spinning roundhouse kicks, and Mortal Kombat. In about 96 when it came out on VHS, my mom rented it for me. But it was all chewed up and the picture was gone, so we had to take it back for another one. While I waited for her to get ready, I decided to try a spinning roundhouse. Not smart. I landed sideways on my left ankle, collapsing in a heap on the floor. She wouldn't take me to the hospital so I just limped for a while. For over 20 years I could still crack it when I rotated it, but it healed fine. Til I was walking to a bus stop holding a Rubbermaid bin and didn't see the hole in the pavement off the sidewalk in 2017. Did it again. In sandals. Not even heels. I screamed like a banshee. But I declined a ride and managed to get to my bus. Upon getting home, I could barely walk. I bandaged it myself and borrowed a cane from someone, but I was alright within about a week. 17 the first time, 38 the second. Buh. I dunno how it's not in chronic pain.

This was a well made video. Thanks for making it! The only thing I would mention is that I think they fight coordinator should have letted them fight with their full abilities because the fight scenes did not look realistic. I would even say that the fight scenes were very cheesy because the majority of the moves were not practical moves and thus were hard to watch. E.g Karate kid has it wrong when they did the crane kick because in a real fight that kick does not work. Another example is when Tory in season 3 took the numb chucks to fight with Sam. The weapon does not fit because we have not seen them practice with those kid of weapons so it became a gimmick.

Yes, another Dojo would be a great key addition. This show is rewriting the spin-off continuation game. It's rare to see this. More character development has to come in small bits. Otherwise it lose focus of the main idea of the show.

Gotta thanks the producers for firstly Get the show made in the first place. Then working so hard to keeping it alive i imagine that would have been very difficult to do. But also having it be number one on netflix 2 years after it release is a awesome as well. Just cant believe how well written it is. Its perfect.

Jiu-Jitsu is one of the best practical martial arts. He’d get destroyed by the BJJ black belts

BJJ vs Karate in a competitive situation will always come out in favor of the grapplers especially in a Gi. Streetfight... i don't know, it's never wise to go to the ground on the street because you could get injured in various ways just depending on how you land and you never know if the guy your fighting has a buddy that's going to stomp your head in when you're on the ground. Johnny undoubtedly has better hands than the BJJ guys so considering the situation they're in the bij guy probably wouldn't stand much of a chance 1v1..... but there's three BJJ guys in the scene. Boxing is the best regular martial art on the street i.m.o. because one wrong kick where you slip and you're done.

@@tuonglukim8973 very wrong. Ive seen jiu jitsu vs high level karate in a competitive situation. It isnt even close even against a blue belt in jiu jitsu with roughly 2-3 years of training.

@@thetornprince138 What do you consider "High Level Karate"? Shodan (1st Dan) Black belt and up? If you put a Blue belt BJJ (which is the first belt after white in BJJ) against one of those in a mixed martial arts competition yeah sure..... he will most likely lose. If you put a Blue belt (fourth Karate belt training 2-3 years) against a 1st Dan Black belt it wouldn't even be close either.

Who in their right mind would let a Blue belt BJJ novice fight a 1st Dan Black belt Karate expert? Neither the organization nor the BJJ professor/shifu/master of the blue belt should have allowed this to happen.

Show is awesome! Glad its in Netflix, but hope it won't get cancel without closure. Anthony does need some character development cause if this was real cobra kai would target the boy to get in Daniel head. Since both dojo's merged then the gi should change. Either it haves the no sleeve look like cobra kai but instead of black and yellow trim. Red and black trim with the banzai logo on back, or a half white half black with red trim.

It would be nice to have other martial arts schools being introduced, it would add new styles as well as carry out the story allowing cobra kai and miyagi do to unite against a new enemy. But I have a feeling that that won't happen, the series might only focus on the rivalry between the two and possibly ending with them making peace. Oh well, fingers crossed.

No, it's too good for 10 seasons. The longest a show can run and still be great is 5 seasons. Season 6 is always bad no matter the show.

Personally I think the character of Anthony should become Cobra Kai's Chuck Cunningham. No offence to the kid who plays him, but the character does nothing for the show, not even comic relief (which is Stingray). All the character is is a typical, and pretty annoying, spoiled brat.
