Huge shout out to Ultra R/C in Saskatoon Sask for getting me this wicked Traxxas Spartan in for me. We are having a fricken blast ripping with it. If you are into R/C or are thinking about it drop on down and see the boys at Ultra, they'll get you fixed up!! Hope you guys enjoy the video, we'll be back to hardcore mudding action soon! Put the batteries as far forward as you can to stop the porpoising (hopping in the water) and if you did that you may need ballast. If it still doesn't work, you should be able to adjust the prop to push the front end down.

Be careful Traxxas boats will sink. Add some extra foam and tape down the lid around the whole seam before each run.

I went with a catamaran myself. Mine isn't a Traxxas though. Mine is the (now discontinued) ProBoat Zelos Twin. Two motors, two escs. Does 65 mph with two 6s 50c 6000mah batteries. My buddy has the Traxxas M41. I am going to also get the ProBoat Sonicwake which is a v hull but with self righting. The Zelos doesn't have self righting but is very stable at speed. The Sonicwake will be good for choppy waters and won't have to worry about flipping it.

I'm thinking 1/4 oz lead centered up about 8 inches from the nose would help the nose stay down and prevent the flip. Nice video thanks for posting. I love watching all the first time runs.

I have a question. Was that a boat launch at that lake in BC? Wondering if the water got deeper the further you went down it? I know they aren't all like that but I had this one friend.....

Hello from Norway. Wonderful boat I've had myself. Traxxa's stock quality. Spartan is wonderful. Two days ago I ordered a brand new boat. PRO BOAT MISS GEICO ZELOS 36 CATAMARAN RTR. I've been wanting this boat for a long time. Now it's on my way home to me. Two 6-cell battery on each battery. 120Km / h + a monster of a boat.

haha cool video Ive owned two Spartans, one stock one completely modded. Stock is a little too much RPM on 6s, hot ESC, and the flexshaft won't last that long on 6s. The modded spartan was a 1600kv Leopard 4082, sea king 180 amp ESC and a 3/16 flexshaft with a 42mm CNC prop. Night and day difference, a little bit faster but WAY more stable and reliable. Everything ran cool to the touch and never broke a flexshaft. Nice boat when modded

I appreciate your comment here. What about water getting into the hull? Would you get this or the sonicwake if you were to buy again and had to choose between the two. The pro boat sonicwake has self righting and is also 6s. Looking for a first amd last boat. I don't want to get into it like I am with my land RCs.

@@jcallesano sonicwake 100% I had the sonicwake and it was incredibly fun, never gave me any issues and it takes a lot of stress out when the boat self rights. It’s not even a contest in my opinion

Traxxas makes some sick stuff. I had one of their early buggies the Traxxas bullet. it was fast but not like this new stuff

Wow, I was kinda of surprised to see a Traxxas engineered toy seem so wonky at high speeds. I have a Pursuit hull same size boat as the Traxxas. It will do 58mph on a 4s in parallel (i think im saying it right, the config is not 8s but twice the run time as 1 - 4s) basically to balance the boat out. It will do 72mph on 6s but its highly tuned for racing on NAMBA circuit. Mine does the same thing at high speeds. I wonder if more weight in the front would help it from bouncing around and popping up in the air like that? I think it would slow it down too much so the trade off wouldnt be worth it. When you can find water as smooth as glass these boats are amazing though. I also have a huge 52" Inforcer hull. Its much wider than the Traxxas hulls and a good foot or more longer. But the mixed fuel (gas) engine in it will only go about 30-35mph. I wish i could figure out how to make it run faster so I could see how it handles the chop.

a good 25 to 30 mins on 6s ripping pretty good. ya when air gets under it she flips quick lol

Yes, there is a channel on YT (sorry i cant remember the name) of some guys out in Austrailia who have set their rc boat up to take the line way the heck out there and it releases it soon as a fish hits it or either they set up where they can push button to release it when they get it where they want it. But they have caught some monsters using RC boats and drones to drop their lines way off shore.

@@teeshark6584 since I posted this comment 3 years ago I bought one of those boats and rigged a actuated bait release system on the back powered by a servo that releases the bait when I flip a switch on the radio. It works like a charm except for when weeds are floating by.

Get a pro boat sonic wake has self righting so don’t have to worry about swimming and the hull is very strong and the electronics are way better then traxxas

well you could use the batteries as a balance weight the more you push them forward the more nose heavy you get and these boats do have trim plates you can bend to get them sit nose down, its all about tuning your setups with these things but the more nose down your boat the more stable but the more hull is in the water and the more drag you have

I have this boat and it does NOT hop like yours does. Mine stick to the water and with a 2200kv castle motor i am pushing 55+ mph. keep the batteries in the forward position.

I love these boats but I will stick to Rc cars because I'm scared that if I crash of lose signal in the middle of the lake I have to swim all the way to get it and for a Rd car you just need to walk a feet meters

Nice to see the RC run...... Big questions..... where is the Life Jacket for the children ? I pulled to many bodies from the water, where just a simple Life Jacket would've SAVED many lives. As per most investigations we have conducted, the PARENTS "ALWAYS" seem to fell that they'll SAVE the children if a mishap occurs, NOT TRUE ! Seeing the Truck in the background and the $550.00 boat... I sure would like to see a Life Jacket on the boys. Your WORLD WILL CARSH if anything happen to them I'm sure. U.S. Coast Search & Rescue, Commander (Retired)

BWWGL9 I was 9 years old,,,my brother was 11,,,, we boated with our parents,,,,now this is going back into the late 60s. Mind you,,,, My brother nor I ever dawned a pfd,,,,only when we water skied,,,,,no helmets on our 10 speed bikes,,,,,and even earlier in life out car seat was made from real metal,,, steel bar,,,,,how ever did we survive ? Now my brother and I are just over 60 years of age...seems life is pretty good,,,,and I never forced my daughter to wear her pfd. While in out boat either,,,,I did demand she learn to swim and she took lessons before she could walk,, Now you can spell out all the disasters that could happen,,,,call me an ass,,,,just seems kids today are so soft,,,,18 year old young men jumped off landing craft ,,,got shot to hell,,,,during WWll ,,ask a 18 year old today to put his iPhone down and go cut the lawn,,,,hell you think he was being put to death,,,,,and I blame the parents for raising such disrespectful like punks.
