OTC ENCORE Tool review basic functions on a 2014 f150. we did a power balance, relative compression, and codes. could be the to easy to use.

Robert I am seriously thinking about purchasing the "OTC Encore" can you tell me if it is worth spending the money or if it is a good scan tool I am a DIY home mechanic? I appreciate your reply.

I use mine all the time and it works fine, I guess it will depend on what you want to use it for. if you want it for obd2 and not pre 1995 stuff you cant beat this for the money. it has a lot of functions that the oe units have. and a good warranty

Well I talked to OTC Tech. Support and they told me if you don't know what you are doing with the special functions you can mess up your vehicle and I am afraid of screwing something up I use to work on cars in my younger days and I am just getting into diagnostics what do you think.

not really the functions are well laid out with directions and warnings coming up on the screen before you do anything, however a lot of the European cars there is some coding if you don't know what your doing will mess up the world, it can be fixed, but its not easy with all this being said if your getting into diagnostics you will need it regardless.

Does this do a power balance test for gm vehicles and does it have evap tests bi directional tests. I heard there going to discontinue this tool is that true

I would like to see some video of you using the touch scope. Not any video out there using the touch scope and you mentioned it in a past video.

Robert how do you find it for programming keys, especially if you only have a single key, and the other thing I was wondering can you get PATS access with it ( this is all in regards to Fords I should add How does it do with the powerstrokes? If you had to choose between and encore and a Genisys Touch which one would you give the mod to and why?
