Jim Lee has always been one of my favorite artists. I went to a comic book signing in the mid nineties when I lived in Illinois. Jim Lee and Rob Liefeld were there. The line went around the block by the time my friend and I showed up. We didn't even make it into the shop by the time the event was scheduled to end. Liefeld left as soon as the signing was scheduled to end. On the other hand Jim Lee actually left the shop's front door and went down the line of people that still were waiting to get in and signed everyone's books and took the time to chat to everyone for another hour or so even though he didn't have to. He was a real class act and even took the time to look over some drawings my friend and I did and gave us advice and encouragement to keep it up. I think it is funny that Jim Lee never considered himself very good at drawing and that made him work all the harder at it.
