This version is very long but to the letter. The stage direction and acting to spot on

Correction: this was directed by Jonathan Miller. Colin Lowrey was production designer.

True but I think that's what makes his charather more unhinged and sadistic people think he should be upset but in relaity he succeed at everything he wanting to do so to his end he's delighted

I'd really like to see how Nicolas Cage would handle a classical tragic role.

non of you realise that this is the closest adaptation to the actual Play, if you have actually studied it in depth you would understand the technical depth Lowery had to go to in order to achieve this... Maybe watch and read and compare before making comments that do not coincide with his efforts...

This is nothing new, merely a product of its time. How do you think the original play was performed? Whilst I don’t really condone it and it simply wouldn’t be done today, it’s also worth noting that it’s not a malicious portrayal. The same can be said of Laurence Olivier (although his makeup is exaggerated to a laughable extent unfortunately) and Orson Welles (an outspoken anti-racist in his day) in their performances of Othello. I would argue that it’s less blackface (as in the disgusting and morally reprehensible minstrel shows) as it is merely dark makeup. Hopkins is playing Othello, not lampooning him, and race is inherently linked to the character and his internal conflict, therefore on goes the makeup. What you make of it is up to you as the individual, you are free to disagree of course, and it is a complex issue. I love these productions regardless, you just have to take into account that they were made in a different era, but also that these particular portrayals were meant sincerely and not to cause offence and spread hate in the same way one of those disgraceful minstrel shows would do.

This version is horrid. Jesus I want to vomit. I'm giving this speech tomorrow in my college shakespeare class hench why I'm looking to all the different versions of the speech (note this is by far the worst, with exception to the way he pulls the knife out) , which my speech will be more like the one directed by Alan Parker. Anthony Hopkins did a horrible job.

I guess the rendition you gave in your Shakespeare class wasn't that impressive because Anthony Hopkins is still famous and you're not. FAILURE!
