He wasn't role playing. He took it too serious and got his own emotions involved and played out of character. That's why it's uncomfortable for him to talk about it. That's why he shot Jan, because it's not a character, at this point. It's him. If he can separate his character from himself then he would not be so offended.

all i’m seeing is that OTT doesn’t know how to communicate when something makes him uncomfortable. Here's my take. Janet/January did not know that certain words were forbidden but not on the rules (Seems weird to not put that in your rules tbh). Misogynist seems like a relatively weak accusation to be thrown around, it happens from the women of the server all the time. Comments like "Oh you hate women!" or "You are sexist." I've seen it thrown around so much by female RPers. Much more in 3.0 than in 4.0 but it is still there; I've seen it with Carmella, Fanny, Ray Mond, etc. It is typically used as a joke and I've seen other male RPers masterfully dodge or lean into it as a joke. January purposefully stood at the house because she was RPing her character and trying to cause drama, literally told chat she was stirring. IMO she did nothing wrong and her behavior of what is and isn't okay has been reinforced by other RPers (and I'm not talking about just Mickey here, dozens of RPers) until this very moment. OTT should've talked to January about the misogynists' comment before it became a problem OOC. He could've even texted it to her in RP. But he brought it up again in the confrontation with January which was an odd instigation? Like why bring it up in that scenario surrounded by people if the argument started over weed prices and leaving the company? Think about it. She did say it and that was ignorant of her, I'm not going to say her actions don't have consequences, but she clearly thought everything was RP, even laughing about it. Idk if OTT was trying to avoid the toxic chatters based off the comments he made later, or if he was trying to roll with the RP but got OOC upset and was trying to set the record straight that he wasn't a misogynist. When I the viewer watched that situation play out I didn't think anything of it too seriously (cause its a game) and thought "Oooh, spicy drama." but when the situation of what happened with January and OTT keeps getting talked about, especially hearing OTT's perspective and the actually footage of what happened I just get confused. I'm not expecting him to have perfect memory when he is seeing red but I don't know if he is misremember or purposefully lying but what matters is how it made him feel and it made him feel IRL attacked. Also OTT has been in a ton of non stop drama IC and I wouldn't be surprised if the stress made him lash out on January who was passive aggressive with her comment of "I guess you'll need another hacker." and she was just the cherry on top of all the BS IC he's been dealing with. He was extremely angry with her like overly angry for an RP scenario; it wasn't acting. On the scenario with Mickey/Blau. I can't get upset with him even a little. He clearly thought everything was RP. He has always stood on his no violence stance in RP. Very consistent from him. You can even see his face when he read his comments on OTT F8 quitting, so much in his body language and words that he was not understanding how serious this was to OTT. People in the comments saying when Mickey saying "Oh January is 18, she is young." as if that is an excuse or that he was subtly trying to say that she is new to the server or protecting Janet OOC. I'm going to tell you that you are just wrong; any other BS you can come up with is just projection. Blau was in RP mode, end of story. In the end. Janet shouldn't be blamed for her mistake. Blau doing his RP and OTT F8 quitting is entirely on OTT, although I don't blame him I just think it was a poor decision; if he just left in character people wouldn't have thought it was an OOC issue and he could've handled it properly in private. Also all of MaximusBlack's words and actions OOC or breaking character are what makes this a bigger problem than it actually is. I don't know if being called a Misogynist is his IRL trigger but his behavior is weird for RP. I can tell you that Janet was planning to reach out to him so they probably already talked about it and the situation is just going to peter out into a nothing burger. In the future they'll just call it the "January situation" and not touch on it further than that just because of how unpleasant this has all been. It definitely will make more RP and we should all just move on to the more interesting stuff that's been brewing awhile than this strange behavior.

It may be hard for some people to accept, but the issue here is that Maximus tried to continue RP'ing out a scenario that he very obviously was not comfortable with. It is a rookie mistake from a Veteran roleplayer. It was an unfortunate scenario, but it was up to him to choose how he wanted to deal with it - he could have communicated he was uncomfortable to Janet in OOCL, sent a dm, walked away, f8 quit, he could have even reported her. The choice he made was to continue roleplaying through the scenario AND to choose an action that comes with consequences, in shooting her. It is not fair to expect other roleplayers to then react differently then their character normally would in this scenario. And it was not just Mickey who assessed the situation and gave feedback that he didn't need to shoot - a large number of people both within and outside of the Company all agreed that although January was in the wrong, shooting her was unecessary. If Maximus felt so strongly about the unfortunate choice of words, to the point that he is going to be ooc offended in how other characters react to it, he should have chosen not to rp it out immediately. Now it is an awkward scenario where he has finally made the decision to retcon the situation, but it has already started a chain of events that can't be undone. Maximus has every right to not be ok with the choice of wording used, but he needs to take some ownership over how he chose to handle the situation - in choosing to rp it out he does not get the right to choose how other characters react to that rp.

January did not know it's a rule but even so it's in character, calling his character misogynistic in a childish way, which makes sense for her character because she acts that way towards many people. She has a very judgey unapologetic character. I can't believe he's really that mad IRL about what her character said. This issue with January/Janet aside, let’s also be honest OTT/Maximum has never vibed well with the rest of the board members. He didn’t when it was 7 of em (he would even call it out “I am the odd man out”) and as things progressed with just of 4 board members he always clashed with the vision and how to run things. Of course it didn’t help he plays at different hours than them and that unfortunately the majority of the founders were friends OOC before the creation of the Company. But yeah he was just never in the same wavelength.

Janet did not OOC know that this was frowned upon. If he was "uncomfortable" with it then he should of reached out ooc and informed her. They could have killed the storyline together.

It isn't really on someone to continue RP with someone else that disregards the "agreement" between RPers to keep certain things away from RP for the good of everyone. You can make up all of these scenarios that you want about how someone "should" handle something, but they shouldn't be expected to handle a situation IC that has been well established as one of the taboo topics for RP for years. It also isn't on anyone to teach these things to "new" RPers, it is on them to learn through interactions with others where certain lines are drawn. Blau has been in the RP world for long enough that he should be held to a higher standard. As he is friends with her, he should reach out and teach her these "unwritten rules" and helped to facilitate a conversation between the 2 OOC on how to best address and reconcile the situation.
