Yeah that's the issue with all out war Civs, you don't really have a win condition so you're usually finishing 2nd or 3rd. I think Russia couldn't be bothered to report the game either. Was a fun one though and yeah a lot of newer players. I think Gaul is in owl was destined for death as soon as Rome declared on him though.

+ means yes, - means no. Keeps from confusing Yes versus whY when using just Y. Plus cpl players have a wide range of native languages so + and - are probably easier to agree on as a shortcut for (dis)agreement.

in MP where the games only last like ~100 turns typically and getting out ahead of your opponent is really important since wars happen a lot, chops make more sense. That being said, if you have a very specific win condition in mind, chops make sense in SP too. Most of PotatoMcWhiskey, arguably one of the best SP players on youtube, he chops a lot in games where he's trying to speedrun a victory condition.

Immediate return on investment against the long term of an improvment + not having the tech. For example lumber mills on wooded hills.You could chop a few horses to kill a city state or some settlers to expand in the early game and have better (exponential) growth rather than waiting.

it is not banned but its near imposible, since you can just declare war and condemn units, and ai doesn't ussualy do that

religious and domination victories are the hardest in multiplayer. the former being pretty much impossible.

religious war is only good vs ai. even with minimal faith income and the worst religion you can tactically defend an entire army of apostles by declaring war on the ai and just wining free religion by just killing all their religious units and then using a couple of apostles to covert the cities to your religion.

To add on to what the others have said, the a big weakness of religious victory is that with the exception of maybe a handful of civs in total, everything that you need to get your religious victory online quickly doesn't provide defence from other victory conditions. Like if you are going science you'll be in the running for the best army tech wise, culture gives you combined units faster and better policy cards, domination needs lots of sci/culture/gold/production. Dilpo doesn't follow this trend, but unlike religious it doesn't require you pigeonholing your empire into it, as apart from a few wonders and that HolySite building all one can do is amass favour to win votes. Plus its much harder to stop a dilpo win then a religious one when one gets to around 17+ points. That being said, I'm pretty sure there was a religious victory in season 2 of 4v4 CPL, and someone (Under/JackTheRipper/OnSpotTV?) has a video of someone winning a FFA with religion. Can't find it atm though.

@@UnderCiv exp nerf makes ottomans much better for sure, but like with walls Gaul has 3 ranged defenses thanks to the oppidum. they could have prepared a little more instead of capitulating so quickly like the French would.

@@UnderCiv To be fair, I'm just relieved they didn't call them 'celts', because I can never remember if that's supposed to be 'kelts' or 'selts'. I think the football team pronounces 'celtic' one way and the 'celtic' people are pronounced the other way, I seem to remember being told, and I suppose that would help me to remember if I followed football at all. But Gaul, come on!
