Ontario Tech University used to be called the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. It is in Oshawa, Ontario (UOIT). It first opened its doors in 2002. In March 2019, the name of the institution was changed to what it is now called. It is a part of Universities Canada, the Canadian Association of Research Libraries, the International Association of Universities, and the Canadian Bureau of International Education. Both the Ontario University Athletics and the Council of Ontario Universities are groups that the school is a part of.
Most Ontario Tech students and teachers live and study on the 400-acre North Campus in Oshawa. It also keeps what it calls its “Downtown Campus” in the middle of the city. There are many different kinds of buildings on the main campus, such as classrooms, dorms, gyms, libraries, health centers, dining halls, parking garages, and other support services. It has some of the best research labs in the world, with more than eighty specialized labs. Its libraries have a lot of resources for both faculty and students, like encyclopedias, encyclopedic dictionaries, scholarly publications, books, and databases.
