The biggest problem I have with TEBOW is his slamming OU and saying we were the cause of all his problems. To a lesser extent, Caleb. I still appreciate him staying around for our bowl game, but then he slammed us afterwards.

I think the only future QB this couldn’t help, is Sperry. They’ll definitely be battling.👍💯

We have always had top QBs here at Oklahoma 🤷🏿♂️

If Arnold can cement himself as a starter this season, I expect Hawkins will transfer after this season. Then we'll probably be stuck with Sperry, who I'm not as crazily confident in as a lot of other people, particularly the OU journalists. I don't really hear anyone talk about the very real possibility of Hawkins transferring after this season. Which is somewhat surprising to me. It's like they all willfully turn on their blinders and assume he's going to be willing to sit 2 more years.
@TijuanabillАй бұрын
You mean sit 2 years, not sit 2 more years. He might transfer out. But I'm curious what you think has changed, since he signed with OU. He knew Jackson was on the roster all along, before he even committed. But there are pretty much only 3 scenarios for elite QB at elite schools: 1. Sit one play two. 2. Sit two play one. 3. Sit two play two. If Hawkins balls out, sitting one more year doesn't slow down his NFL dream schedule. I would also note that as excited as we all are about Hawkins, he is not thought of on the same level as Arnold and O'Neil, nor is Sperry.
@GutslingerАй бұрын
@@Tijuanabill At the time of writing that, I mistakenly thought he had already been on the team for a year. So I wrote that with that perspective in mind. But I've also been thinking about the tweet his dad made a while back, basically saying that Hawkins didn't come to OU to wait for his turn. I don't remember it verbatim, or I would look it up and give the quote. I know some could explain it as he's expecting his son to be competitive for that starting spot immediately, as he should, but it also makes me think they might not be happy if he has to sit for 2 years. I agree with your second paragraph. But from my observations, I think a significant amount of people seem to be pretty high on Hawkins. I'm not as high on him as I've seen other people express, but I currently think he would be a better option in the future than Sperry.
@TijuanabillАй бұрын
@@Gutslinger I agree about Hawkins and Sperry. But man, EVERY QB in the history of mankind, has stated they aren't there to be a backup. That's not a unique statement.

@chessking7347Ай бұрын
Will this in any way affect Michael Hawkins? Or will this likely be a smooth transition from Arnold, to Hawkins, to O’Neal? Because word on the street is Hawkins is an absolute beast and the second coming of Kyler Murray. I would hate to see Hawkins transfer.

@@Crankinstien A lot people do not know that Lincoln Riley's parents went to Texas, so he was mostly a Texas fan growing up in Mule Shoe. Yet, he only lost to Texas once. Still a fraud.

I love our ability to recruit offensive players..but why tf can't we recruit offensive line players? We have all this talent, and our new QB is about to look like a june bug on its back, flailing its legs...
@chessking7347Ай бұрын
As I understand it, the O-line we currently have is loaded at talent, just young and inexperienced.
