Our poor little Ava scratched her eye the morning of their birthday party. Need less to say, she gets it after her mommy by developing an ulcer! Ouch! Then, come to find out one of the quints has three cavities! So many doctors visits for us...

Adam ..Olivia always less close up and you less mention..Why???

We are sure we never force the camera on any of the kids. Olivia is usually less inclined to film, so she does on her own terms. That’s how it will always be… she is usually one to just bounce in and bounce out from in front of the camera and not sit there and talk in front of it. Some people see it as bias or favoritism, but it’s the opposite. We value what they want and don’t want to force them to do anything.

It will get better!! I’ve had a scratched eye before, multiple small scratches. My cat accidentally scratched it when he was cuddling with me at night and as I opened my eyes he was kneading the air and got my eye lol. It healed quickly and easily, worse part was getting my updated Tendinitis shot 😐

Studies show that redheads oftentimes have thinner enamel, which makes their teeth more susceptible to cavities. So for Hazel it may be a matter or dental care, or genetics, or a combination of both.

I come from a family of redheads and generationally. Both my husbands sisters are red heads. That is categorically untrue! Hazel eats WAY too many sweets and these parents need to do better with teaching/instilling oral hygiene habits. My daughter is redhead at 18 and to date has never had one cavity. My son is 23 and to date has never had a cavity.

@@AM-qg6bj I’m not sure but I think on how much of the red you have inherited. I’m also a redhead and have also never had a cavity, neither has my sister. But studies do actually show that in redheads, the teeth enamel is derived from the ectoderm and is thinner than usual. Since the enamel coating is thin, the inner layer of tooth-dentin is more visible and offers a yellowish appearance. So I think it goes both ways.

I scratched my eye when I was 9, never heard of anyone else doing it except for brave Ava! I feel her pain! I had to wear an eye patch & got to dress up as a pirate! Stay strong beautiful girl! xx

They are growing up fast. Agree best to get the bikes a little bigger as they will grow into them. Right now their feet do not touch the ground and they are unsteady. In six months their feet will touch the ground. Riley's train of thought always amazes me. She remembers things and asks thought provoking questions. She loves learning. All the kids are smart, but there is always that one that stands out. My sister was very smart in school. She read books constantly. In high school she won a scholarship to a four year university. She studied abroad for a year in France and became fluent in French. She moved to France and worked for a few years. There is always one in a family. My siblings and I were good average students and that's OK. As kids, we would be outside playing and my sister was inside reading books and perfectly happy. So, I just say find what interests each child has and encourage that they pursue it.

They need to be able to stand over the seat of their bike... that's the proper height for them to peddle safely... if they can't touch they can't stop safely... Love you guys!!!

It might be a little tall on Ava's, but you actually only should be able to touch the ground on just your tip toes. If you can plant both feet fully on the ground while standing over the seat then your seat is way too low, and it's bad for your knees while peddling. Also from my experience it's pretty important for little kids to not have their seat too low otherwise they'll get into the dangerous habit of trying to use their feet to brake.

Aww Riley is such an inquisitive little one! She’s so smart and articulate!! Poor Ava! It looks painful 😓 Uh uh looks like Hazel got bad luck with teeth. Cavities suck. Riri got lucky plus she probably brushes more carefully (which is a hit or miss at that age) because I think she has the biggest sweet tooth

Riley is so full of questions! Too cute! I never felt there was favoritism with the girls . Kids are kids and sometimes they want to be on camera and other times not so much. My son never liked being in pictures and many times the first day of school pictures were of his backpack as he didn't want to be in the picture.

These kids get so many treats. At the eye doctor it's hot chocolate and then a freeze pop. Every time they go anywhere they get a treat! How lucky they are!

Adam I will say some people are more susceptible to cavities due to the anatomy of their teeth. It’s not always about brushing. If you have really deep grooves it can be hard to get everything out and can cause cavities over time

I have had bad teeth all my life and mine is from a calcium deficiency! Not all things are because someone doesn't brush their teeth well enough! We need to be kind and loving to our children even when things are going wrong!

Poor Ava. A scratched eye is SO painful and scary. And, wow, bikes with handbrakes at their age? Very impressive. And I still can't get over a rabbit having a ?litter? of bunnies right in the middle of your yard and family. It's like she knew that it would be safe and y'all would look out for them. I've never seen anything like that.

I know how the scratched eye feels it’s happened to me twice once in each eye. One eye was because a piece of debris got in from yard work and scratched it the other was because the eye doctor said your eye has glands inside and one just happened to get crusted over in my eye and scratched it. Eye drops and a contact for a week and it was good to go. Hope she’s doing better cause it hurts!❤️

I’ve had it before too when my cat accidentally scratched my eye, he was cuddling with me at night and kneading the air as I rubbed him. Second I opened my eye his claw accidentally got my eye, had lots of little scratches in it. It healed great and quick

As a former "difficult" child, it really bugged me when Adam called Riley difficult in front of both her and Hazel. She's going to believe that having strong feelings and personality make her difficult. This has happened on the show too.

Yeah I agree, as a teacher for young kids it drives me crazy when teachers and parents call kids ‘difficult’ or ‘bad’. Kids take things so seriously and literal so they could think something is wrong with them or that their feelings and thoughts don’t matter. I’m sure Buzz didn’t mean it, obviously didn’t mean to hurt her feelings or make her feel bad but it shouldn’t have been said in front of the kids.

I like how you leave it up to each girl to decide whether they want to be filmed or not. Poor Hazel with 3 cavities. I hate cavities as I don't like the numbing shot. Hopefully she'll get bey at brushing her teeth. Glad that Ava's is doing better.
