I am so happy to have added this to my collection! It is stanky/ medicinal with the camphor! I now own this one and Oud For Greatness. Ordered 10 ml of Oud Bouquet too! Help! I love oud, the stronger the better. Another lovely one is Oudh Infini, whose name wins also. But I don’t want to spend $435. Than you for your review, I was wondering if others loved it as much as I do!

I picked this up after seeing it on your Instagram. It was love at first sight! I usually prefer oud/Amber combos and shy away from oud /rose but this is exquisite!! Just what I'd expect from Diptyque. Loud but not obnoxious. Oud ispahan is a bit to much "hey look at me and my rose frag!" If you are ginger on the trigger Oud palao just overflows with class. Big and bold but not over the top. Still has an impression of class. But not totally stripped of its cajones as to make you say what's the point. To quote the middle bear in the goldilocks tale, hmmm, this one is just right! Thanks for the heads up. I wouldn't have know it existed so soon without your recommendation.

Excellent and on time review Sebastian! I also like it more than Oud Ispahan. It has lots of tobacco and less rose ...... But I have Oud Ispahan and I have to finish it before purchasing this gem.

Great review! You made me curious enough to do a mall run today!and you are spot on about how you described Oud Palao! In the dry down it reminds me a bit of volutes my fav so far from this house! I got a sample from the SA to try before pulling the trigger but so far love it! Have you tried Eau Lente? It is another interesting Dyptique...vanilla and heavy spices!

My favorite fragrance in my top five! I don’t think Diptyque is given enough props this house has amazing smelling fragrance and you are correct this is a beast in the best way! Great review as usual

Check it out: I spoke to the girl at the fragrance counter of the place that I frequent, and she it turns out that she used to live in the UAE. So she tells me that she had visitors come up to North America and they told her upon smelling this stuff, that it is the authentic oud-based fragrance!

Got a sample of this at Nordstrom and absolutely loved it! Great release from this house. The drydown is heavenly!

For the last few weeks, every time in go inside a fragrance store and come out with a few samples, and I look it up on KZfaq, you seem to have a video about it. I'm impressed with my nose 🙂. I was in diptyque boutique yesterday and came out with a sample of Oud palao, Volteus and their fig (forgetting it's name).

This one is just beautiful, I absolutely love it! quick note, this gets almost sopay on me in the mid notes, which almost makes me turn around and go scrub but the dry-down saves it for sure! Just a beautiful, creamy tobacco/oud/rose combo. Excellent review! I subbed since I keep forgetting to whenever i come on your channel :)

Great review. As always! I am surprise you did not highlight its similarities to Portrait of a Lady on the top notes. I blind bought POL after watching your review. To my nose ( and on my skin) the top notes are very similar to Portrait of a Lady and the dry down close to the oud from that the other brand which (out of respect to your channel) shall remain nameless. In Portrait of a lady the rose and the mint in the patchouli remains until the end on my skin (7 to 10 hours later). The oud in other nameless brand turns a bit more animalic which I am not too crazy about. With Oud Palao, the vanilla and the patchouli give it an almost amber vibe in the dry-down that it amazing. I agree with you about longevity: you really get your money worth with this one. For the price Oud Palao is a no brainer (if you are into fragrances).

I received a sample from an order with Nordstrom and have been hooked ever since! I love that it exudes a tabacco top layer. I get compliments from it all the time.

I love diptyque and have been interested in this, thanks for the review. Recently I have been impressed by their new limited edition 2015 jasmine and now I'll check this out due to its "loudness" as you said. I like loud with claws from time to time! Oud has flooded the market and it takes a lot to impress nowadays. Question, is this an edp or edt? Thanks, Sebastian!

It is very loud when I spray it, but does not project for more than an hour on me. I have the 2016 batch. I wonder how some folks say that it lasts for 10+. May be 10+ very close to the skin and unnoticeable? What do you guys think?

I was looking for reviews on Diptyque eau de Lierre and it seems that reviews for it are lacking and in fact this entire house seems underrepresented which is a shame.

Sebastian i was worry sick about you since you deleted your old channel watching other fragrince channels its not the same but im glad i found you. good review man diptyque is a good house with quality and good price its good that you know real oud spouse for designer oud but is it like montale oud quality? cuz montale is so good i rather buy a frag than oud oil i cant tell the difference alse than the good combination with other notes so is it montale quality? other question if you may im lost what to buy from montale oud leather or black oud people say oud leather is a mature tom ford Tuscan leather and black oud some would say its drath vader signature scent it's that gothic and royal or should i just buy diptyque oud if its the same oud quality. last thing i would like to hear your opinion about a recant purchase that i made its tobac rouge. lol im very sorry Sebastian i know i wrote an assay for yaa but your the only guy that i know who i trust in fragrince community hope you have good holidays thank you very much.

Hi Sabastian, I just blind bought Le Labo Tobac 28. I wrote a review on fragrantica, Im gedlive. I just wanted to tell you its a java Vetiver fragrance with no tobacco. I know you like vetivers...

This stuff is unique. Powerful. Slightly matriarchal. But i like it around the house. Wouldn't wear it out though

I, unfortunately, was not impressed by Oud Palao. Being bewilderingly overdue, Diptyque hit the market with an oud fragrance that presents nothing surprising. Admittedly it is a quite realistic, good quality oud but similar kind of interpretation of this multi-faceted note has been done so many times. So I am underwhelmed and, quite honestly, disappointed. The last release Florabellio by Diptyque was also a letdown. Too safe of a scent. What is going on with this house? The limited Essences Insensées 2015, a candied/smokey jasmine, is absolutely stunning. Maybe a review on this saving grace? :)
