Spent many hours hanging on to the front of those Western belt trailers via the platform. It was so handy as opposed to the rear 'ladder' when operating piler remotes. Glad to see the tarp roll up was moved to the rear, I despised the front roll up handle on the front with wind or loads that where mounded up unevenly that front platform became very small then.

I ran a lot of different variations of those belt trailers in Idaho in the early 90's. The original ones were modified flat beds, with boards covering the belt, had to pull one boatd at a time. Even pulled a frp sided one designed to haul slurry from the potato plants, along with potatoes and grain. All the ones out west had an electrical hook up, so they could be run both pto, and electric hydraulic.

Justin does your son wrestle? I have not had that flexible of shoulders since high school wrestling. Nice trailer. We used to get brewers grain from the local brewery for cattle feed on a belt trailer. Usually came about 2 in the morning and the drivers were true characters. They all taught me new words and phrases to use away from Dad's ear shot. Have you checked out the youtube page 4 State Trucks? They can be long winded but he has a lot of Petes and Kennys that are personalized and some real nice looking trucks. Stay safe and healthy.

@SmithFarmTilton3 жыл бұрын
With a spread over 10' you can get away with imperfect axle weights. You can be over 3 ton on a trailer axle.

Bunker Sand, gravel, marble chips, mulch, tire chips,saw dust,coal,wet and dry distiller grains, corn gluten, grape and tomato pumice, potato waste, Bakery meal, green beans, onions, potatoes, apples, pumpkins, all farm to elevator grains,and all dry bulk feed ingredients to beef and dairy operations. The only thing I would do differently than before is a electric tarp. Windy days and freezing temperatures make tarping difficult. They (Western) clean out well. Only a little product left on front in each corner. Stop the belt, get in, sweep onto belt, restart and let it clean itself out. It's important to know where you can get these trailers washed out. Some receivers won't accept the product without washout receipt prior to loading. These trailers are better built than most.
@kangaroo5053 жыл бұрын
I'm curious Justin. In winter with all the crap on the roads, does that contaminate the belt and in turn any product carried?
