Same happened to us on the train a few days ago from Tunes to Lisbon. We had the same first class tickets but sat in the wrong car 😂 an older Portuguese couple had “the same” seats 😮 we eventually made our way to our correct seats. We’re loving Lisbon 🙏

Train tickets are reasonably priced in Denmark and Germany too. It’s mainly done to encourage people to use public transport to keep congestion and Carbon levels down. Congratulations on your residency permit. I remember how excited I was when I got my permanent residency in Denmark, after moving from Canada, and then eventually Danish citizenship. I wish you both good luck on your journey to citizenship in Portugal❤

" are you hungry ?.. 😁etc ... Simple small phrases.. love you guys. By the way, Brittany's accent is almost perfect ..sorry, Drew 😉keep it up guys

Firstly, Congratulations! You're on your way. The train looked so clean, plus air. I'd like electric, bullet trains here in states. By the way, have you thought of building a simple car port over your van/home - keep direct sunlight off metal? P.S. Looked like an amazing way to dine & wine - with incredible balcony view!

I very much understand the excitement and joy you both feel. In the late 90's, my wife and I immigrated to the USA from Canada through the DV1, or Diversity Visa lottery that she won. I was born in Germany, which allowed us to play this yearly lottery. Although the countries are similar in many respects and it wasn't much of a culture shock for us as for many immigrants, it was still very special. Five years later, we applied for citizenship and now I have dual citizenship. I have no intention of ever living in Canada again. Like yourselves, I was also drawn to the states as you were to Portugal. Congrats to both of you for manifesting the life you desire. Love and Light to both of you.

I love that you mentioned unconditional love. I was focusing a little earlier that my mission/focus is unconditional love also! We can spread this across the globe! I was very touched that the other day my son had extra food and gave a meal to a homeless person, just like you two provide similar gifts to them. I've never even mentioned this to him. Congratulations, guys! Feels good, doesn't it? As I think I told you before, the thing with moving to another country is that you are going through several phases. First phase is 'The everything is GREAT here' phase. Next is the 'So many things s*ck here' phase. Then, if you manage to get past that phase you get to the 'Some things are great, some things are not so great, but we'll live with it' phase and then you can really settle in. I think you are there already.

I would say now the hardest part will be to pass that A2 Portuguese test. Make sure you practice regularly because that test is no walk in the park.

I lived in Lisbon for a year when I was 21. I loved it. When I left, to go live in Madrid, I used to say it was my favorite place. Then, after 10 years or so, living in Holland and Belgium, I woke up!! About 5 years later I moved off grid and to a 3rd world country. I am very happy to be off grid: especially now!! However when I see your innocent enjoyment of Portugal, I feel nostalgic and wish I were there again: but on an awakened and harmonious world. The European culture, architecture, classical music and especially the care of the environment call me. 3rd world urban landscapes are ugly and painful. Living with simple people might have some advantages, but..............

My favorite peeps congratulations on achieving your goals and dreams I've also got my double citizenship American and Portuguese the best of both worlds and if we think about the tolls prices for the quality of the roads and the price paid for it I find it very affordable compared to what I was paying for in New York tolls and roads

@@antoniodasilva1230 o yes some states are also subsidized. But I don't care. I don't live in the US, nor do I pay american taxes. Just don't make the Portugal roads a Portugese achievement. It was funded by the EU, so it's an European achievement, paid by non-Portugese Europeans in taxes.

Traveling by train in Portugal first class or not is even more comfortable on the fast "Alfa Pendular" trains. As for wines, Douro and Alentejo are usually the best choices. have fun!

Congrats! I can get Portuguese or Irish citizenship since my 2 sets of grandparents emigrated from those countries through them. I have a few cousins on the Portuguese side who now have dual American/Portuguese citizenship. Wow! 100 degrees. I've heard how hot parts of Europe are like parts here in the US. We live on the Oregon coast and it's about 65 every day. Cool view from your room and dinner set up. Kathleen

Instead of using a wheel barrel, they make a hard plastic with holes for handles. You take a large garbage bag and put it inside of it and when the garbage bag is full, pull it out and tie it up and put it in the large outside garage.

A heads up - register on line with Comboios and you can get seriously good discounts for travel by train particularly if you book in advance. Love that journey up to Lisbon through the Alentejo.
