Thomas your garden is amazing I really enjoyed the tour. We live in Southern Florida we tried for several years to grow a garden. It’s difficult. The soil for one and the temperatures all year round.

Planting flowers along with veggies is actually a good thing as pollinators will be attracted to the flowers and move onto the veggie flowers thus helping your plants produce more to harvest. 👍🏻 Those tall bluish-purple flowers you transplanted from one area are actually delphiniums, a VERY desirable flower! They don’t grow well in all parts of the US so be thankful you have growing conditions they love.

If you planted the apple tree this year, pull all the fruit off so the roots have time to get established or the fruit will take all the miners and food.

This was inspirational for me. Gardening, in my experience of 40+ years is an experiment year to year. Even now I feel like a baby gardener. The greatest satisfaction for me is growing something and enjoying eating it at the end of the process.

I noticed that one of the tomatoes branches are touching the dirt...A little thing I found out is trim up about 3 inches so no leaves touch the dirt...if the leaves touch the dirt they can easily get diseases and then the whole plant can be a loss...another good thing to plant with Tomatoes is Alyssums and marigolds, bugs do not like them ...every year that I plant these flowers with my tomatoes I have a good harvest...I'm by no means no expert i just watch a lot of KZfaq and get really good tips :)

I was so happy to see you do another patio/garden video! Just beautiful! There's nothing you two can't accomplish! My husband Andy started gardening 3 or 4 years ago and he worked the whole time in the pandemic .I truely believe it helped him with the stress that most people were feeling with it all. I looks like it helped your Thomas as well! You can really tell gardening is good for the soul. Also I love that you are doing more videos each week!~Susan

Your garden is beautiful! I’m an avid gardener myself, so I was VERY interested in this video. Can you tell me which zone you’re in? I’m in Georgia zone 8a. Each year my garden produces a ton of vegetables but with the intense heat this year, a lot of things are stunted, no matter how much I water. Hopefully the weather will cool down soon and we’ll get lots of rain.
@ashleyhuze2 жыл бұрын
We’re a 6A!! Our temps have been much kinder to us this year than they were last.. we’ve gotten rain almost weekly and it’s stayed in the 80’s, where last year it was almost 3 digits the entire summer with absolutely no rain!!😣

We have a problem with tons of squirrels where we live. Do you have any issues with animals? If so, how do you keep them away? I'm sure the fence helps. I was debating on doing everything exclusively outside maybe with a greenhouse so that the squirrels wont get to the plants (they love my tomatoes lol) Your garden is beautiful!
@ashleyhuze Жыл бұрын
We have squirrels EVERYWHERE!😆 they literally live in all our trees ha! But we have some kind of repellent my husband buys to keep them out of the garden! All of our eggs kept going missing and one day we found a squirrel breaking out of the coop holding the eggs!🤭 We haven’t had a problem sense! I’m not sure which repellent he used but I know he bought it from IFA!🙌🏻
