As my m in law and sister in law worked for M & S for over 40 years we were regular customers AND the food was always exceptional. 👍We generally, won't buy sausage rolls, as often like I quoted re the pork pies issue.. most are mass produced, tasteless *rap. 😶I'm lucky that my lady is a good cook.. not quite up to par as my mom.. but better than bought *rap.👀M & S foods have always had a good rep for their foods from meats to veg to pastries et 👍For a few bob more you get food you EAT, that's a real TREAT! I went to M&S in Hong Kong last week and treated myself to a pack of mini sausage rolls and a pork pie after having been unable to have for years. They were absolutely awful. Like eating cardboard soaked in water. I crushed the second sausage roll in my fist and actually had water running out onto the worktop. I was shocked to say the least. The ones in your review look like a totally different animal. Once again, I make my own brand of sausages, sausage rolls and pies out here in the Far East initially to ensure I knew exactly what was going into them. Perhaps this alters my ability to assess store-bought items although the M&S haggis and black pudding I bought at the same time was superb.

I have to be honest, Gareth - I always get my weekly grocery shop via Ocado, the online supermarket, and they sell the full M and S good range. I would rather pay a few quid extra for QUALITY, rather than have cheapo rubbish that I don't enjoy. So I tend to buy a lot of M and S high quality food. It is good to see you reviewing their food. You have to cover the full range of foods, from the budget Aldi types (not for me, tbh, but it is important for ypu, as a reviewrr, to feature them) to my preferred more quality, M and S products. Another great review, well done 😎
