Yes parking is difficult in the city. There is parking in the tunnels and many Estacionamientos (Parking lots) around the city. Many hotels don't have their own parking in the city. If you have a car you may have to have it parked somewhere else and brought up to the hotel. A extra expense not often considered by people. That is why I build parking at my place. Now the only problem is to get people not to park in my access roads to my parking. These little roads are zoned city roads. So they are wrong to park there. But it still is difficult to get them to stop doing it. One thing that is good is you don't need your car to get around. It is very a very walk-able city. And the taxis are very reasonable. Only costing 60-70 pesos (use to be 40-50 they have raised the price sense I was last there) to go anywhere. And very easy to get one. Buss is even less expensive. Around 10-15 pesos. But you have to wait for it. The real place for hand made silver jewelry is Tasco Mexico. That whole town is practically all silver stores.

Well to sort of answer your question. My wife and I plan to sort of retire here and earn a little income renting the rooms. It really wont be necessary to rent anything. We could live here on our social security alone. But it will earn some extra money for us, and employ some people. My wife's family is from Mexico (Zamora area not far from Guanajuato) so she understands the culture, and of course speaks both English and Spanish (me I have to work on my Spanish). As to the time line. I had hopped to be finished already. So we will have to see. The cost will exceed 1.5 million dollars when it is finished. I don't know this exactly because it isn't of course finished. A building like this would cost way way more then this in the USA.

Thanks! We are thinking of calling it "El Coliseo" because it kind of looks like the Coliseum. I live in Houston Texas now (Sense 1972) but I grew up in Walnut Creek California. When I was young my dads sister's family lived in Sun Valley. But now that her children are older ans she is no longer with us.They no longer live there. One lives in Sacramento and the other lives in Oakland. Its been a long time sense I have been to California but I use to know it well. What kind of bike do you have. I couldn't tell from video. I personally own a GSA1200 but I never have had time to rid it sense I bought it. I think I will have to sell it without ever having ridden it. My wife will probably be happy with that. Se never liked me ridding motorcycles.

What you here about Mexico? Did you consider that the same or even worse could be said about the United States. Everything you hear in the news is distorted. I have been going to Mexico for the past 40+ years. I have talked to soldiers at road blocks. They all acted very professional. I never felt in danger. There are normal people living there just like here. I have never witnessed anything bad. Just like I haven’t in the USA. But things happen in both counties. So what do you think?

People who don’t know say plenty of bad things about Mexico. eg. The theft you experienced. Of course you get the good with the bad.

In Mexico they do eat Tamales. But what is far more prevalent in central Mexico is things like Pazole, Menudo, Enchiladas, Mole, Tacos (Of many different kinds), or if you are a vegetarian maybe Napoles (A cactus plant) things like that. And they don't really serve chips a lot like in the USA. It more common to serve bread (Bolillo's) with some kind of salsa. If you wan't chips you have to order them or get some guacamole. It sometimes come with them. The Mexican food we have here in the USA is more like what I will call Texmex. Still good but different. And the Burrito really isn't a Mexican food. They do now make them but this really came from Texas border area.

@@EdgePrecision I lived near Cicero close to Chicago, the food was a tad more authentic. I've had Texmex from when I lived near Dallas for a bit, don't mind it but things like a simple Nopales dish are great by themselves. My all time favourite will always be steaming hot Tamales.

I think it was some young people that broke in and took things for use in their homes more then to sell. Just based on what they took and what they had ready to take when they got interrupted by our neighbor. I'm just glad no one got hurt. We have no railings in the building as you saw in the video.

No one in town that I'm aware of does this (Not that it is a bad idea). A taxi from the airport is only around 400-500 pesos (Say $20.00-25.00 Dollars). The guy building our building comes and picks us up. If you take the toll road it's another 35 pesos. So maybe it isn't really a problem for most people. Because we are not really in the center of town. We have thought about a shuttle of some sort for our guests to get to and from the center. A 40-50 taxi ride. Or walk to the finicular and a 30 peso round trip ticket, and take it down. It is also possible to call for a Taxi or Uber to come get you. I have stopped Ubers on the street like a Taxi to go somewhere. They charged me the same price as a Taxi.

What might be more appropriate because of my Scottish ancestry would be Laird. But this is, in reality a small piece of land. 696 Sq meters (7492 Sq Ft). The lot my house sits on in Houston TX is larger in area than this. It just look large because the building covers the whole lot and is six levels high.

There are many reasons. Just a few My wife's family lives near there the weather is always nice there. I already live in a hot and humid climate. My wife and I don't care for the beach areas. Also those areas are a lot more expensive because of the resorts that cater to the US and Canadian tourists. This city has a lot of tourism (It's a UNESCO Heritage city and Ciudad Magico.), but not so much American's from the US or Canadians, more Mexicans and other countries. So we will have no trouble renting here. My wife and I have visited this city for the past 40+ years and we like the place. There are a lot of misconceptions spread by the news media about Mexico.

This is kind of a tricky question, because it depends on how you want to live. It is possible to live on less than $1000 dollars (19,870 pesos an current exchange rate.) a month (Many Mexicans on less than this.). But that is not the way you would probably want to live. Also things are different in Mexico. From say the USA. I am making a comparison to USA, I don't know where you are from. I would say you could have the same life style for around one third of what it costs in the USA. But things like computers, TV's (Tec. stuff)cost more in Mexico.

There is actually a lot of tourism in this city. When people out of Mexico think of tourism they generally think of the coastal areas. Like beach resorts and the like. But Mexican tourists and some European tourists go here a lot. Not so much American. This city has to do with the Mexican history. They also have something happening almost every month. Like I said in the video this month is the 50 adversity of Cervantino festival. They have a host country (Korea this year). This country brings may cultural things for this. Like food, music performances, Dance, Plays and many more. They do free street performances or for a very reasonable price in the many theaters and venues around town. There are usually more than 700 activities planed for this festival. Many many people come to this. But there is something every month. Like the international Car Rally races. Red Bull extreme down hill biking. A hot air balloon thing to name a few.

@@EchoERanch I just got it before this trip. So I’m just learning how to use it and it’s software to edit the 360 videos. I think this kind of camera is the best for these type of videos. You can just record video without worrying about where you are pointing the camera. Then in post arrange your view point and even the view angle from wide to zoomed in. Or you can output a 360 video where the person viewing can change the view by the mouse or moving their phone.

The surveyor's I used have a satellite system of some sort to establish your property lines. If you ever buy property in Mexico. The most important thing to do is get it surveyed to establish where it is and how much area.
