Hmmm....not a bad idea!

They are so sweet! Love our boys! They were both rescues - Poki showed up on my dad's doorstep one night and the vet said he was only 4 weeks old. Shorti we adopted from PetSmart at 6 months old. His mother was a stray that was put in a foster home, where she then had her litter that included Shorti.

Hope you are successful in finding a carrier that works for you. I actually found this one listed as being a dog carrier. I don't know why companies/people think that cats don't need space - especially for travel.

Oh no! I hope you were able to retrieve the pets safely! The only incident we've had is that Poki leaped out of the carrier as soon as I unzipped it a little bit to get him out and I happened to catch him mid-air! Thankfully he has not done that again.

The bottom buckles do secure it pretty well, but it could be "iffy" with a couple of heavy dogs. Our primary concern with cats is keeping them confined in a space large enough for a litter box and to have room to stretch out. A crash test would be interesting and potentially beneficial, though!

Thanks for the response. Are the two IsoFix clips plastic or metal? It crossed my mind that is those two clips are just hooked over rather than "clicked" in to the seat fitting - then is there a risk of them coming off during travel?

The clips are metal and they are the "click" kind (the loop closes on them). They will not come off on their own.

Thank you for the information. I read yesterday that Petego sold out to Quaker Pet Group (PG) in January 2018, which explains their not responding to Facebook or emails. QPG replied to an email and said that they have new carriers in the making, which will be crash tested - so that's a win for dog owners :)

Thanks for your comments! I hope you are able to find a carrier or two that will work. This video was made several years ago and the carrier doesn't seem to be made any more. It was actually sold as a dog carrier, so that's something to keep in mind when looking. Also, my kitties stopped playing with hair ties a couple of years ago. Just lost interest (as cats do!). This particular carrier was discontinued soon after this video was released several years ago. :-( Too bad because it is a good one! It was actually sold as a dog carrier, but it worked great for us! So I recommend researching dog carriers since for some reason companies seem to think cats don't need much room. ??? DUH! And, no, we have never given the boys any anxiety meds. Poki loved to travel and Shorti mostly slept after he threw up a couple of times in the first 30 minutes. We wish you the best of luck in your relocation adventures and in your career goals! We still have individual carriers for them that we either have in the truck or in the Airstream. So we do have access to them in case we need to take a cat to the vet or something. Thanks for your concern!

There is info. on the product in the description below the video, but others have commented that this is no longer available (this video was made several years ago). The original company was PetEgo, and I don't think they're in business anymore. This is actually a carrier marketed for a large dog, so that's something to look for!

The video was made in May of 2018 and the carrier was purchased a few months before on Amazon. I don't think this particular carrier is being made any more, but there are similar ones available on Amazon. I tried writing to the company to inquire, but did not get a response. This carrier was originally marketed as a dog carrier due to its size, so that would be something to check out. I hope you can find something that will work for you, and best of luck on moving your kitties!

No, we don't let them play outside. They have always been indoor cats.

Thanks for your comment! Our cats have adjusted pretty well, although they much preferred the running and jumping space in our previous rig, the 40' DRV. Now that we're in a 30' Airstream, they don't have as much room to run, but still manage to play. As far as taking them to the vet - we have been fortunate to have healthy cats and only need to take them in for annual exams and shots. We've only had to board them once, when we went to Hawaii, and they seemed to do quite well in their kitty condo! Sounds like you have a cute Chihuahua! Good luck with the decision to adopt a cat! Would be so adorable if the two babies would become pals!

Not built in to the carrier. I sometimes use a plastic bowl and put a little water in it so if it spills there is not a lot - although our cats are not interested in drinking while we're moving. We stop fairly often and offer them water at those times. Same with food. I have seen some "no spill" water bowls online but have never tried one.

Great question and you are the first one to ask about that! It is a PawHut 39" Portable Soft-sided pet carrier. Looks like you can still get it on Amazon for $108.99. It was a little tricky to put together - or at least to zip both parts together, but it was a nice carrier. The Tidy Cats Breeze hooded box just fit in it, but it did take up one of those compartments. It would be a perfect size for one cat, though! Yeah, we have to hold on pretty tight and make sure there aren't any dogs or kids around during a transfer. And getting multiple cats in/out can be tricky! One time we opened the zipper and Poki came FLYING out! He was caught mid-air! Too bad we didn't get that on film....

Hello! The litter box is Tidy Cats Breeze, the hooded version. It uses pine pellets instead of regular cat litter. The pellets last a long time and they don't create dust. And it uses "diapers" to soak the urine. Check out the box on the Tidy Cats site. I get the pads from Amazon: AmazonBasics Cat Pad Refills for Litter Box. They work well and are much less expensive than the Tidy Cats version. I got the cat carrier off of Amazon. I got it several years ago, so the name may have changed.

Oh no! I just did some research on this myself and it looks like Petego was probably bought out by Worldwise. Discovered this when I decided to write Petego to find out about this product. It is/was PetEgo and it was designed to be a dog carrier. Apparently the company stopped making it not too long after this video. Yes, our still have their claws. They have never tried to claw their way out of the carrier, though.

Declawing is inhumane, that's like having your knuckle taken off, some cat's will then develop bad behavior such as biting because they're natural defense has been taken from them.

Cats NEED their claws, just like our nails they can be clipped. Please read how inhumane declawing is
