Fathers like Father Peter will address these problems as our Lord wants them to. I had many reasons in the last four years for grievance over some of the sins ever growing in our Church administration, but because i was seeking our Lords will primarily, He was always able to gently and lovingly guide me away from taking any action. Gently rebuffing me and revealing my own sins instead in ever greater light. Here was a great healing of me by Him! And in forgiving and loving others as a correct stance to their sins, including of course Fathers in the Church, such great healing came to me! It goes on and on...the hardest part is to keep turning to Him as i grow into being transformed into life with Him. So many sins around us to distract us from His living body where there is no sin at all and only mercy for all of us sinners! Can you believe it!?

Excellent thank you Father that's actually very reassuring. It always helps me when I am reminded that Orthodoxy is a body of people throughout all the ages united by the Orthodox teachings and traditions and not the collection of living people who currently occupy positions within the Orthodox Church community. All of us living within that community must be struggling to maintain our part of that larger unity under true Orthodox Church and when I look at it that way, I am less fearful of even the fact that a Patriarch or priest may be in error (besides my usual ongoing fear for all potentially lost souls), or of how it affects me.
@evangelosnikitopoulos
@evangelosnikitopoulos 5 ай бұрын
If a patriarch is in error you cannot be in spiritual communion with him. Simple as that. It's like if someone offers you poison. You have a choice of whether to accept it. If you do, God will judge you personally for heresy, not the Patriarch. Here's a recap: Constantinople is lost Alexandria and Antioch are openly in union with the Monophysites The Moscow Patriarchate was created by Stalin, preached communism for 70 years and is filled with Renovationists and spiritually illiterate and corrupt ex-KGB bishops and priests Greece and Romania embraced modernism in the 20s and ecumenism in the 60s Bulgaria rejected the WCC but it changed the calendar in the 60s, making it schismatic Serbia was a late hold out but has increasingly embraced ecumenism in the past 40 years Jerusalem used to be a bastion of hope, but it signed on to the ecumenist synod of Kolymbari in 2016 So that leaves the ROCOR not in communion with Moscow, the Greek and Romanian "Old Calendarists" and _maybe_ the Patriarchate of Georgia.

Christ is born, glorify Him ☦️ May we all have your blessings Father Peter ☦️ Yes! And usually the priest will take a short cut to discard the laypersons who know the teaching of the Holy Fathers. Lord have mercy ☦️ We do pray and take the risk to be slandered because to be silent means consent. Save O Lord Thy people....

When a Bishop excommunicates a monk who refuses to listen to the lie of Covid, and will not agree that churches should be shut down, that Bishop needs to repent. Pray for our Bishops as they are all under great attack, and some are compromised with the Earthly powers.

@@alexeios Yes, and the Monk's name is Father Sergiy. He was willing to speak out against man's unwillingness to trust The Holy Trinity to intervene, instead a man of God is now facing seven years in prison because he dared to follow the path of reality and Truth, while other men of God are denying that very God and His ability to protect us all. I believe people were getting sick because they denied the grace and power of God in His Church.

This was so important. Some are so over-zealous, that they become judgmental not only towards their friends and family, but also towards the Church and the hierarchy of the Church. First you cultivate the orthodox ethos, fight the passions, fight the egoism in yourself. Fighting heresy is a task, only few are able to. One needs true love (not the "love" that is propagated in modern society), deep faith and a lot of discernment to do that. I would say, the easier it is for someone to criticise and judge the Church and its Hierarchs the less he is able or ready (spiritually) to do so. Κύριε Ιησού Χριστέ, Υιέ του Θεού ελέησον ημάς ☦️

We must NEVER judge a decon, priest or bishop on their personal lives, or for that matter anyone! But on dogmatic reasons ie heresy, Orthodox Christians have a right to point out their error!! Nor do we break communion or commemorating of a bishop if they are guilty of personal sins, but in the case of dogmatic issues like publicly preaching heresy as the 15th Canon of the First-Second Council states, you can break communion and cease commemorating them even if they have not yet been formally deposed or and defrocked by an Orthodox synod.

I get in a tone of trouble with my priest. Being a man who never truly worked outside of the family business. My biological father was my boss for 17yrs. My biological father was extremely hilarious but also the most dangerous accident prone man you’d ever meet. So I have a history of criticism and taking strong positions to those in authority, because I’m worried about their safety. This naturally gets me in trouble with my priest. To which I reply, “What kind of son would see his father going astray and not do anything to save him?”

I learned if a preacher or pastor is telling you you should go to church because of some flimsy correlation to a verse and then totally ignores the direct commands to help the widow, the stranger, the orphan etc. They are not someone in line with the scripture.

The Lord has told us we are ALL fallen, so why harp on it? Wishful thinking that the clergy would be above this, but St. John Chrysostom has already spoken of this, it's not new. But that's the spirit of this age, call-outs, exposing, debating, etc. We must work with what the Lord has given or let to have, figure it out with the Lord in mind, do what we are blessed or allowed to do, make your choice...

Saint Matthew 7:1-6 Stop judging, that you may not be judged. For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you. Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove that splinter from your eye,’ while the wooden beam is in your eye? You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother’s eye. “Do not give what is holy to dogs, or throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces.
