The minimum wage in Portugal is around $700 per month, so you can definitely live in Portugal for less than $2000. Especially if you move away from big city centers such as Lisbon and Porto. I really enjoy your content, just to mention that public schools in Portugal teach the same program as private schools and after year 9 you actually get better chances of getting into a good university by attending public rather than private schools. Thank you for making my country so appealing. All the best.

Wow, I live in a low cost of living area in the Midwest US, and the cost of living in Portugal absolutely blows us out of the water. That is incredible!!!! Especially the utilities and health care costs. It really makes you think... 🤔

The first time I visited Portugal, I fell in love with the country right away. I mean I’ve been to France, Spain and England but Portugal is my favorite. I feel very much at home here but more importantly the people are genuinely nice.

Portuguese here: See the benefits of changing the diesel car to a LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), it´s way cheaper. Via verde for the roads tools, check the local farmers markets instead of "supermarkets stores" and maybe change a little of the lawn to a Portuguese pavement with basalt and limestone. (is not that cheap but it´s beautiful and no maintenance needed). And you have the right to a Family Doctor appointed to you in the near hospital or Health center (centro de saúde). Good Luck!

While our pavement are nice and belongs to our culture, I don't consider them the best investment and they can even be dangerous (slippery) when it rains.

I live in Alma, MI in a Nice Former Elementary School with 25,000 Living Square Feet, my own GYM, Two(Acres with 20 Big Beautiful Trees etc.). I also Paid it CASH ($47,900 which included the $800 Paper Work/Title) so I too don't have a Monthly Payment BUT I do have my Yearly Taxes which are $3,000. ... So: $3,000 ÷ by 12 Months in a year, I Pay $250 a month. My Utilities (Water & Elec.) are a Average of $130 a month for both. Yesss, I Spend a extra $200 a month in Winter, Pellets for my Pellet Stove ( Dec. - March or April). Alma has 9,300 Population which I Love. No bumper to bumper traffic etc. All the Businesses that I Want/Need are Walking Distance. (Walmart, MEIJERS, Auto Zone, O'Reilly Auto Parts, Big Beautiful Library, Police Dept., My Bank, Post Office & All Fast Food Businesses etc. Home Depot is the Furthest, 18 Miles away. My Opinion Only: I don't Think/Believe that I can Get/Find a Nicer, Better Place to call Home, My HOME or My CASA.

How do you earn income as an American . I have yet to watch your investment video . I am a single mom of black teens sons. Is it safe . Is there racism ? I’m white, they’re mixed. I love Portugal ! I was there many years ago. Yet I will need to work . I am I food as a chef and business management .

That's what happens with a universal public health care system. It lows prices of practice to the actual cost of it. But it has to be sustained with taxes on revenues everyone has to pay, if you want to use it. That forces the private healthcare market to low prices. Well, you have the Canada example next to you, which I don't know thoroughly, but I believe is similar to most european. For instance, Swizterland changed its public health system to a private insurance based one a few years ago. Now costs are rocketing year after year, as insurance companies profits. My brother lives there and his (single no children) is over $7000 a year. He had a anckle surgery 2 years ago bc he hurt himself playing rugby, that was $10k co-payment

Congrats on the new home! and thanks for sharing this! Moved to Lisbon after 10+ years living in Manhattan in NYC, I was floored when I paid $4.50 for an oat milk latte AND a breakfast sandwich! Just 1 cup of coffee alone in NYC was $7.50 daily, and the breakfast sandwich would have been $8-10!
