My absolute favorite part was the friend in low places greeting you at the door! I would have been out of there..the minute the voucher said Howard Johnson. That’s a blast from the 1970’s, I am still surprised there are some in existence. I remember staying at one when I was 6 and we were traveling to Alabama with my family. I am 54. That is why I keep a reloaded Visa debit card for emergencies when I travel. I would have slept in the airport until my plane left. That hotel voucher was unacceptable. I am so happy you kept your spirits up and so the positive in your adventure. You guys handled all of the changes with class and grace. I would’ve bugged out for sure, especially if I had my kids with me. It definitely makes me sad though. I bet for some that’s as a once in a lifetime flight and they may not have had the funds to stay elsewhere. That hotel needs to get it together.

Oh no, yeah if we had kids it would've been a different story! We had the same thought too...after a cancelled flight the least they can do is put you up in a decent room to rest 😞

Kyra, I felt you with that room. My husband and I would not have stayed at all, we are unapologetically budgie.🤣🤣 We would have turned around at the sidewalk. I’m glad you guys did carry on. You can appreciate it more when your flight is canceled. I hope you guys enjoyed Europe!

The Howard Johnson in my city closed about 30 yrs ago. I didn’t know they still existed. That was absolutely terrible! I would’ve been crying! Glad you were able to get another spot & we’re still smiling. Even at 1 in the morning. You’ve got a heck of a story to tell for years to come. Happy Anniversary 🎉

Hope you guys are having an amazing travel experience. Guys Adrienne and I love international travel. Trust me guys after several of those 9 hour flights you will be ready for those 15 hours ones. Same move not checking luggage. Our son went b to Germany a few months ago and had a layover in London. Flight in London was cancel and he had to stay in London overnight. The next day he got a flight to Germany but he had to go through Switzerland. His check luggage never left London. He spend a week in Germany and never got his check luggage. Luggage was delivered to his home in San Francisco a week later. Enjoy the experience guys.

😂😂😂 I wouldn't have stayed there either. I don't care if it was free. If you can afford it, go to better accommodations. Heck, if I couldn't afford it. I would have stayed at the airport. It's cleaner and brighter than that dump. You two are adorable ❤

Kyra & Aaron my goodness my skin would have been crawling. The Howard Johnson Airport hotel was disgusting and infested. As fast as I walked in and I would have ran out and been sitting down in the lobby in a chair waiting for my Lift ride to pull up and ran out of that place without looking back. 🏃‍♀️🏃You guys are use to staying at beautiful resorts and in nice state rooms on lovely cruise ships. I'm so happy Kyra that you and your husband were able to get a nice room before your flight to Italy the next day. Praise God!

Happy Anniversary y'all! "The "We need to regroup" line by Kyra resonated with me because if it was me, I would've cussed like a sailor. lol. This is similar to a flight I had in college to fly back to Cleveland from St. Paul, Minnesota.. Just starting from Minnesota (in December) then traveling to Memphis..then Atlanta (staying the night there due to cancellation of flight)...to Cincinnati...then to Cleveland. Add the worst snowstorm on record during this travel.time. period. My relationship with God was tested. lol

When I tell you that I was HOLLERING when Kyra said that her skin was 'already itching' when she walked into Howard Johnson's - believe me!!!! I totally felt her disgust and I'm proud of you all for even going any further. My butt would've been 'IT'S A WRAP' and we'd be pointed towards the door! (free or not) I'm so glad that you two were able to stay positive and not let that first night affect the rest of your vacation. I’m over hear crying laughing. They put me in the exact same nasty hotel when my flight got cancelled. I was soooo tired that I ended up sleeping on my suitcase in the room just praying I didn’t get bugs, robbed, or both. Back in June we also finally made it across the pond for the first time. We stayed at the Commodore in Galveston. It was so bad. I slept on top of the sheets fully clothed. But it made the Havana balcony on the Vista that much sweeter, 😂

Lol! Been there; done that! My husband and I have had so many travel snafus - some our fault some not. We always look at is as an adventure. We know we are blessed and thankful that we are able to pivot if necessary. We are heading to Paris on 10/26/22. Hope all goes well...we are not going carry on only. 🤞🏼🙏 Love your attitude towards your situation . Thank you!

Love your videos!! PSA viewers 🗣️ Always always book an early international flight. No later than 1 pm. Get the earliest flight possible! Just in case you have delays or your flight is cancelled, you have plenty of flights to choose from throughout the rest of the day.

Happy anniversary!!! We were on our way to Boston for my sons mba graduation in 2019 before pandemic and they cancelled our flights. Got onto a flight to Columbus Ohio and they put us in a hotel there before our connection. It was the worst hotel and same things you showed, we actually left and slept at the airport because it was already 3 am. You all kept up such a great attitude and grace. Love watching your adventures!

Yall, we stayed at a Howard Johnson in Arlington (just outside of Dallas) and it was terrible. It was musty, moldy, and the breakfast was trash. We've never stayed at a Howard Johnson since then. Was about 5 years ago.

Great video, first Delta is known to give you a bad motel when they have all the money. I would have left too. Second Paris airport and train employees are always going on strike so it is better to go two or three days before. You are going to have a great trip.

Oh my goodness we had this happen to us during the pandemic for New Year's Eve, The flights was delayed several times and then finally canceled so we had to bring in the New Year in the airport they finally got us vouchers I'm not mad at the hotel they sent us to. We didn't have a 4 leg welcome party as we entered our room... So glad you didn't have to stay there

I love how you 2 handle the situations that kept happening. I would have left the Howard Johnson hotel too. Delta is wrong for that one.

Definitely need the packing video. I don't know the last time I saw a Howard Johnson. That place looked unsanitary. I'm glad you were blessed to have other options.

Oh no! I cried inside when I saw that hotel. The exact same thing happened to me in ATL once and we moved to the exact same hotel (except our original hotel was even worse than yours, if you can believe it. THE GHETTO!) Happy Anniversary! 🎉🎉🎉 I love Rome, maybe as much as or even more than (?) Paris! 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹 Safe travels and stay blessed!
