Exactly this, I've heard ppl who have a lower risk of needing emergency visits such as mostly indoor well behaved pets, using the money you'd use towards your payment into a savings account is better

I would suggest getting pet insurance about 3 weeks before you pick up your puppy. It might take about 2 weeks for everything to process.

Hi! I think it depends on what the medication is for. If it’s preventative (that is, covered by the Preventative Essentials) then there is a limit on the amount covered. Otherwise, for treatment, medication, the 90% coverage after deductible should generally apply. Hope that helps!

About 40 percent of all claims are denied with pet insurance companies. They good at accepting your money, not good at giving it up. They all raise rates every year, sometimes drastic increases. Its like going to vegas, most people lose with pet insurance, a few will have large claims that are paid. Its stack in the house favor. The lady in the video is going to pee her britches when they raise her rates as the dog gets older.

@@magnumpi28 exactly. Me and wife just got a shih tsu and wife almost signed up for pet Insurnace until I went over it and explained what a waste it is. We can and are putting the same premium every month in the bank for our new Phoebe girl and more likely then not we'll have a nice nest egg ready when she does need care. At first the shots will be a expense but in 6 months time we will alrdy have more saved to 100% pay the bill to have her fixed and then continue to put it away for foreseeable future. Their won't be a expense we won't be able to cover doing it this way. They want you to pay a YEARLY deductible of $300 to $500 or more on top of $60 to $100 plus a month just to receive a possible discount of a measly $15 to $25 off shots or $150 off a teeth cleaning that costs 1000. Their in the business to make profits of pet Insurnace so that means they won't cover expensive things and their betting on the math that you won't have many health related expenses overall or they wouldn't let you have it. Then they won't even pay upfront the bill so your stuck paying it then resubmitting it to them and hoping they cover a decent amount weeks later. It's a scam. Yea it works out for some but overall they make out and most people lose money for "peace of mind" if you don't have money then don't have a pet. Or start right away putting funds away every month to care for future expenses so their isn't any "oh crap" vet bills.

@@Games.Gadgets.Sports I agree, maybe the only exception might be a accidental policy if you dont watch your dog closlely and it could get hit by a car. Its only like 20 bucks a month and covers accidents or injures. Maybe for a small puppy that loves to eat anything or a ol country dog that could get attacked by something or snake bitten. Very rare but maybe a few people could benefit by accidental only but for most probably a waste like the regular policy thats a waste you talked about.
