Spencer, the last year of my life has been very difficult, there are days when I could hardly get out of bed. I connected with your grandfather and through his movies he got me through my days. I have sat here and laughed and forgot my troubles. What a talented, wonderful, gentle soul he was. Thank you for this tour of his home, I truly enjoyed it.

Charlie Chaplin has helped me through feeling lonely and down. My disk drive is broken on my laptop, so I'm unable to watch my Charlie chaplin dvds. So was actually looking on here to watch something of Charlie chaplins. I ended up watching this and was amazed! I love your grandad in Limelight. 💖

Claire, if I may butt in. I’m mobility challenged. I survived a suicide attempt at Terry Ambrose’s age. I became a carer and thought that if the person I cared for left me I would attempt suicide again, but instead my life and career flourished. To say I relate to Limelight is an understatement-it restored my will to live, which was tenuous at best. I am pleased that it had a positive effect on your mental health as well. Keep fighting!

You’re not alone. Charlie Chaplin came into my life, and suddenly, I found myself smiling again, even in the darkest moments. It's remarkable how his presence, through his music, shorts, and even his audio-biography, fills my days with warmth and inspiration. Charlie Chaplin is more than just an icon; he's a true miracle, a beacon of hope that continues to shine brightly in my life.

I want to say because of Charlie I was the black sheep growing up in the 80s. On Friday nights Disney Channel played silent films and I would laugh and forget the times I was bullied at school. Your family has helped so many find their smile....

Thank you for the tour. It’s June 15th 2024. My mother passed in 2018, she was born in 1933 and she loved reading biographies. I was going through her things that I packed away and found the book written by Charlie Jr. Fascinating. I followed up by reading everything I could about your grandfather. His autobiography, Lita Grey’s book, Charlie Chaplin vs America, Trio (which you know is more about your mother) and anything that I could find about him. My mother’s brother was born in the 20’s, and was also a big fan. Remember seeing pictures and things that he used to mimic of the little Tramp. Loved the tour and hope to go myself in the near future. Your comment on Charlie being a complicated man was a kind way to speak about him. Times were so different back then I know, I have a hard time criticizing his behavior, he was a true genius. What is common with geniuses is typically altered social behavior. Yes, he had his faults and he did do things that could be considered unconscionable, but the impact he made on the silver screen changed theatre forever. Could you override that and just label him something nasty? I think not. As a woman, who had my own experiences of men behaving badly, I still can’t think of Charlie Chaplin as anything but a once in a lifetime historical enigma. His history growing up and his relationship with his mother I’m sure solidified a love hate relationship. 100 years later I’m watching his silent films and I’m mesmerized by the drama and feelings they emote. I’ve subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing more of your content. Thank you again for the tour and a chance to enjoy your father’s memories of life in Vevy.

Merci beaucoup. I had an enjoyable time visiting the mansion et home of Sir Charles Chaplin. Eugene has Charlie facial structure y even small hands of his dad. Yet his eyes were Oona s. Someone had done a really precise job in making the mannequins. I thought Switzerland spoke German, Italian et french. Yet things were labeled in French especially at the doorway. Was french their chosen language to speak. Haunted huh....what kind of other paranormal things took place under the Chaplin roof. How did the woman die. What year was the mansion built. What is the history of the house. People debate Charlie Chaplin Jewish. I see it. I'm Jewish. The pictures were also entertaining. Again, merci beaucoup. ---- a Charlie Chaplin fan from Massachusetts, USA.

Humble somehow, maybe like his father, l don't like arrogant celebrity nowadays for nothing.. Beautiful, get naked.. So they're famous and rich. Anyway... Charlie's movies can still make you laugh more than 100 years after I wish long and healthy life to rest of his family. *God* rest his soul 🙏
