Okay, the gate looks great but “Kid Cam” was my absolute favorite part of the whole video. What a sweet baby girl!❤

Depending on how far the stream is to the living area, look into RAM pumps. They use no electricity and can pump uphill to storage containers. Remember to install an overflow pipe too so it can then be flowed back to the stream/creek so no flooding or wasted water.

The road looks wonderful and the gate is absolutely beautiful! One thing that gives me concern is the need for an escape route, should there ever be a forest fire. With all that forest all around you, there should be a backup plan.

Now that you have a nice gravel road, the T-Rex has a nice sidewalk to walk on 🙂 and P.S. your kids are so adorable!

For the water tanks, find a heavy-duty trailer (old/cheap) with the deck height as low to the ground as possible (center of gravity deal). Twin axles. Put 2-4 totes on it. Use the tractor to pull it. Put a toolbox on it for your tools (needed for water/genreator) and a place to hard mount your generator. (with extra fuel tanks for reserve and handy access)

Important note for gravel roads, you need to keep all the leaves and branches etc. off the road (use a blower). They will break down and create mud that will cover your gravel and eventually make the road hard to use after storms.

To eliminate the trips down the hill to get water, make a ram pump and use it to pump water up the hill to a IBC tote at the cabin site. The ram pump will work 24/7 and any excess water that gets to the tote can just be sent back down the hill.

Hey, Spencer when I used to work on a farm I had to work solo like you. Hauling stuff is a pain, so we ended up welding a ball hitch on the back of the box blade so I could drag a little trailer with all my supplies. It made life so much better! Love you guys! Great channel, great family!

The road and the gate look great. Something tells me that you’re going to need one of those portable pizza ovens, fueled by propane, for that mountain retreat. That would also give you another option to feed that growing family with.

Great gate, love the symbolism in it (Mama Bear, Poppa Bear, and the 3 little bears, 2+1). You've got a budding videographer, fantastic job for one so young. Two suggestions for you though, 1: make the water track improvement a priority for access and include a quick turn-around area at the bottom, in case of fire. I live in the Victorian high country in Australia, and bushfires are an ever-present consideration. You or the fire fighters need to be able to get fast reliable access to that water. 3 hour turnaround is too long. 2: get yourself, what we call, a slip-on trailer, that is a sturdy trailer to mount that water tank onto, with a water pump and generator, and fire hose attached, as well as a suction hose. Using valves on the pump, you can draw water from the creek or the tank into the pump, and the outlet valve can direct the water to either the fire hose or to fill the tank. The trailer can be towed by the tractor or a 4WD. You have got great country around, love it, but take precautions so you don't get caught there. The scenery is beautiful, but needs to be respected. Also consider get a PLB (personal locator beacon) for emergencies, to get help from the outside world if needed. You your channel, keep up the good work.

Looks so good! Kid cam was SUPER cute! Those “lady bugs” are Asian lady beetles (noted by black M marking on their head). They can be very invasive and a nuisance. You will find them everywhere!
