9:19 This is "La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad'un rasoolu Allah," written in artistic Arabic calligraphy. For non-Muslims, this means "There's no deity except God. Muhammad is His prophet," peace be upon the Prophet. 9:27 This is the spot where the Imam will lead prayers. Sometimes the Imam stands there to deliver sermons and speeches too. At other times, there's a slightly high wooden platform for the Imam to stand on, so that people far away can see him easier. The Arabic above the spot is again artistic Arabic calligraphy, and I believe it says, "Qaal Allah'u ta'aala azza wa jall, "Fa walli wajhaka shatral masjidil haraam." This means, "God, be He raised far above, exalted and glorified, said, 'Turn, then, thy face towards the Inviolable House of Worship.'" The Quranic verse refers to Muslims' qibla or direction of prayer, the Holy Mosque of Mecca. 9:36 The lower text here says, "billahi wa malaa'ikatihi wa kutibihi wa rusulihi," which means, "in God, His angels, His books, and His messengers." It can be understood that the word "aamana" or "believed" is omitted from this quote because it is known or understood. This is most probably a part from the verse Quran 2:285. The above text in the rectangular area includes some of God's names, like Al-Wakeel, Al-Mateen, Al-Hameed, and others.

the mosque is actually useful to promote islam to others, aside from its main's to perform the prayers and all. in the usa, the main caretaker did an open day each month(?) where he promoted islam and their people, as most people thought of us as part of the terrorists, so it is refreshing to witness this in japan too, open and beautiful 😘 and nobu, you can of course perform the prayer too, despite being a non muslim. you can even read the quran and practices some of our beliefs if that is fine with your religions and beliefs too. i know a few people do pray despite not being a muslim, and can read and understand the quran better than me, who is a muslim since birth 😅 on the side, that toothbrush is what in the quran said to be used by our prophet, and it doesnt need any toothpaste bcause of its natural hygiene in nature. and once you brushed your teeth, it is said that your mouth will feel fresh and cleaner for the whole day, but of course it'll be weird, it is after all a part of a wood.

I'm born & rised as Muslim. I never asked or wonder why each and every mosque in the world had such design. I thought it was just design by some creative people or some uniqueness & decorations added for its beauty. The only thing I knew, the mosques are for Islamic activities, praying, and Muslim community gathering. And the only feeling I've ever had whenever I visit a mosque were calm and relax. Until one day, I did a research on Putra Mosque in Putrajaya, something really meaningful happened to me. I was lucky back then because when I was there, I saw a tour guide was explaining about Islam to a non-muslim tourist who visit the mosque. I came near them to listen. After the tourist continue with his visit in the mosque, I explained I was there for a research to the tour guide. He bring me almost all area inside and outside the mosque including the area that I never know that actually existed before. He told me, each and every part and design of the mosque has its own reason and meaning. Even the trees planted around the mosque have its own messages for the believer. Since that day, whenever I see, visit or driving past the mosque area, I always have different feelings. The feeling that I couldn't explain it by word. A feeling that is way more that just relax or calm. It is more than that. I think I found the secret jewel hidden inside the mosque. If either Aisha or Haikal or anyone there can explain the structure of the mosque, the arabic that written on the wall and ceiling of the mosque (they are actually some verses from the Qur'an) the design of the wood carved near the stairs, I believe it'll help you learn or understand more about Islam. And about Haikal, I think he is joking. I can see you feel awkward when Haikal deny his words he said at the end of the video. That part of Malaysian thing. We love to joke around. And also, Malaysian are NOT punctual 😅

Orası sadece Turkiyeden ufacık bir parça..Turkiyedeki her yer Osmanlıdan kalan tarihi camilerle doludur.Sultan Ahmet ,Süleymaniye ,Selimiye,Bursa Ulu Cami bunlardan sadece birkaçı ..Hepsin gözlerini kamaştıracak güzelliktedir ve hepsindeki huzur farklıdır.Bu duyguları yaşaman dileği ile ..

Hi Nobu and Shun. Nice Video! and very big applause for not recording people who were praying. I love how you were very polite in the mosque. Basically, everyone can enter a mosque, however, that person has to be "clean" in accordance with Islam doctrine. "Clean" means that you and your clothes are not contaminated with dogs' saliva, blood, feces, and urine. Hope that you will explore Islam in Japan more deeply in the future, not limited only to Tokyo! And for the Arabic carving that you were signed because not know how to read it, it is read "Laailaaha illalllah wa ashadu anna muhammadarrasulullah" which means "There is no god, except Allah, and Muhammad is his true messenger (prophet)"; the most sacred word in Islam. regards from an Islam-Kyoto student!
