To answer your question, Michonne ate Morgan's peanut butter protein bar when they were at Morgan's crazy apartment. She and Carl split a chocolate candy bar on the railroad tracks. It was so funny that Morgan asked her about it all that time later!

This really does explain why Alexandria was so naive and untouched by the apocalypse.

S6 brings back the Rick we know and love. The guy who's in control. Not the nice clean man who does anything at anyone's service. BEST CHARACTER IN THE WHOLE SHOW FOR A REASON

Season 6 was one of my favorites! It s starts in an way put ends in an freaking alternative way! One of the best!

I love the dark undertone of the Rick/Morgan/Judith scene. When Rick says "And then i realised i didn't have to do it" and we expect him to follow it up with something humane, showing that Morgan is right about Rick's good side, but turns out he had a much darker reasoning for not killing Carter.

In the audio commentary Greg Nicotero revealed that Norman Reedus came running to the set naked. His alarm clock hasn't gone off and he was too late for filming. His stunt double had already dressed as Daryl when Reedus came running and demanded the clothes.

Season 6, My Favorite Season!

I've always liked how they blended this episode with flashbacks and present day.

Ethan Embry the guy who plays Carter was a villain in Once Upon a Time with Sasha’s actress. Highly underrated show if you want to watch something new.

Rob was so excited watching this episode, it’s so pleasant to see. I don’t remember everything from the early seasons so I was so excited to revisit Morgan and Rick’s encounters.

The way Rick quickly dismissed Gabriel was hilarious 😆

The reason Pete was killed was ultimately because Deanna had a selfish reason to want him dead Pete was hurting Jessie all that time and Rick suspected he might kill her eventually but Deanna did nothing about it She only finally give Rick the okay when Pete directly affected her Him killing Reg was an accident and he probably did intend to try to kill Rick there with Michonne’s sword but because it was Reg of all people made Deanna react differently than she had been up until that point I get it and it’s a very human reaction but that’s the only reason Pete died there Deanna was the top authority and he personally wronged her (even if on accident) so she wanted him dead If it had been anyone but her family she would have just gone with exiling him like she was saying before In an unfortunate way what happened had to happen for Deanna to really get what Rick was saying that whole time She could only finally hear him because Pete’s actions directly affected her and her family.

By this point the show was at its height of popularity and I imagine had gotten a much bigger budget. Most of the filming was in the state of Georgia with huge support from both the state and the population, so it was probably pretty easy and affordable to get a ton of extras for the horde scenes. I remember there were a fair amount of advertisements and contests to appear as an extra in the show both during the commercial breaks of this show and the after show "Talking Dead."

I love the fact this episode is partially in black and white. It's not only a great visual tool, but a nice callback to the comics which are all in black and white.

OK, HERE WE GO! Next 2 seasons are going to be HUGE ! You're in for a treat. You'll also see how Morgan became the re-incarnation of Bruce Lee too, in one of the best episodes in the series. There was CG, when you see the HUGE hordes, i.e. in the Canyon/Quarry, most of that was CG, including the trucks, if I remember rightly some of the stripping of flesh was CG but Greg Nicotero usually prefers to do that in practical.

How did you guys like the black & white flashbacks ??. A little homage to the old zombie movies ;). Also an easter egg to the comics which are ALL black and white. Biggest freakin horde you have ever seen right ;) ?? And yeah, they actually got about 1000 extras to play zombies. By the way: with the exception of 1 huge thing (which i will get to in time), Season 6 to this day is STILL my favorite season of the show !

Fun Fact: the first half of this season takes place in a 24 hour period of time. It will help you to know this, as it puts the season into a much clearer perspective

There’s actually a web series called The Driving Dead. It has no relation to the show, other than it stars Micheal Rooker, aka Merle Dixon, and it involves zombies. It’s actually a driving psa set in an apocalyptic world. I feel like I’m not describing to well. But it’s actually very very interesting with lots of action. It’s a four part series, in total it’s just under 35 minutes.

This is an excellent season premier! We meet more of the residents of Alexandria, and start to get why their so naive to the Z/A. Basically they've been lucky to be sheltered from the walkers. But how lucky are they really? This far in the ZA n they are totally unprepared for what's to come. I love how they kept the PB protein bar bit going 😅 We have some great episodes coming! Tons of walkers 🧟‍♀️🧟‍♂️🧟Season 6 is awesome!!

There is definitely a niche fan base for Tobin, I’ve been a part of a couple of social media groups of fans of the show, and Tobin kind of became a meme for a while of people obsessing over him. Glad you guys liked the premiere! Can’t wait to see your reactions to the rest of this season, it should be wild! **Please remember to be careful of spoilers in your comment section!** A lot of the walkers were definitely done practically, and some of what they did was copy and paste practical walkers into the background as well. So less cgi (there is some, like in the wide shot of the quarry), but more repeat walkers taken from the front and put into the back. I remember seeing footage of them editing this specific horde.

I read somewhere that Andrew Lincoln went to bat for Ethan Embry to stay on the show longer, but they didn't want to change the script. One & done. He did an excellent job.

15:09 Maybe you should be a little worried. Sasha seems to have finally dealt with her trauma but she now recognizes in Abraham that recklessness. He has yet to come to terms with his trauma. 17:40 This scene not only delivered one of Rick's most badass scenes but also one of the show's biggest bloopers. In psyching himself up for the scene, Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) started punching a wall but got too carried away and punched a hole through the wall. They had to quickly patch it up for the shot. 25:15 Glad you like Tobin. Once upon a time you guys couldn't care less about the supporting background characters. I'm hoping you'll also grow to like the new guys Heath, Annie, and Scott. Now that we're in a community, you might find it worthwhile getting to know more of these supporting cast since (if they survive) they actually are repeatedly brought back throughout the show as the same character. 26:50 It's also a nice homage to the comics being in black and white. 27:53 Definitely the most amount of walker extras on set but CGI was used to augment just how big the horde was. Anything in-focus or in the foreground was real; anything in the background was CGI. They've definitely gotten better at hiding their movie magic tricks. 28:50 It's interesting you went to Gabriel. Earlier you mentioned how sparing Nicholas and Carter shows how they pay it forward yet you perceive Gabriel to be the sabotaging worst of them despite the fact that unlike Carter and Nicholas he never plotted to or got someone killed respectively.

Theres no CGI when it’s only a couple of walkers but there’s pretty much always CGI with hordes of walkers, but it’s done in a very sneaky way so that the first few rows of walkers are real but as you go to the back of the horde it’s all CGI. They probably had a bigger budget for season 6 as season 5 was the most watched season in TWD history. So there’s a chance that they spent money on better cgi affects hence it looking so good. If ur wondering how I know this I watched a TWD documentary on the special affects awhile back. Cant remember the name of it tho. Hope this helps.

I think the walkers we see closer to the camera and walking behind Daryl were real people in make up. The walkers in the distance would most likely be CG.

I might be wrong but they did the black and white for the flashback because they weren’t sure how to show the audience otherwise that it’s a flashback. In later seasons any flashbacks are handled a lot better, even in the earlier seasons it was clear what was and not a flashback. I just never understood this one

These first 9 episodes are some of the best TWD moments IMO s6 was one of if not the best season of this show!!! Y’all are in for a treat

Season 6 is a total game changer. This episode was so mind blowing once you saw the magnitude of how many Walkers were actually in the query. I remember just always feeling like I was on the edge of my seat because no one is safe in The Walking Dead. Which makes you nervous every time you watch an episode. The B&W Scenes are a tribute to the comic Series which is in Black & White, There are times I Think TWD would work really well as a Black & White Show

The quarry itself is definitely cg along with most if not all the zombies in it. As the horde on the road though they’re just getting really good at their technique of real-lowerdetail makeup-cgi shading

congratulations! that was your first zombie horde! imagine what it's like to live on a planet criss-crossed in every direction by countless armies of ever-hungry dead cannibals!!

A powerful episode that opened the Alexandrians' eyes to the reality. Some of them couldn't deal with it, though. The miles of walkers was amazing. It was hard waiting to find out what was making the horn blow. And perhaps the horn was just happenstance.

The start of the best season. I cannot wait.

To answer your question, the closest walkers are Nicatero' extras, the farther ones are amamatrons, and finially the farthes out are CGI.

In addition to the Alexandrians being lucky enough to live behind really nice walls since the beginning, in this episode we find out that the majority of the walkers that could’ve gotten to their community, dropped off into this pit. Luckiest group of ppl ever! SO excited to see y’all’s reaction to this season!

Season 6 is just special every episode is like a mini movie. Dont give up on father Gabriel just yet guys he has a long way to go but his story ark in this show is one of the best!!Diana knows now wat has to happen to keep this place standing, an the rest of them have to step up an learn from our Group if there going make this place work ,A big question is Can you live in this world the way Morgan wants too that is going to be a big question going forward threw this season. I told you last week there was a reason why Alexandria doesn't seem to get many walkers an now you no why..The black lad with dredd locks is "Corey Hawkins" he played Dr Dre in the straight outta Compton movie,he's also in King Kong -Skull Island, hes a comic book character too...you guys are soo lucky the next episode is just awesome but episode 3 is going to be a shocker.
