There are performers that you can not put in one specific category. Ray Charles had that ability. Even though she was the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin sang opera superbly. Chris Stapleton has that gift. His not a country singer, blues singer,or a soul singer, he's what I call a singer, he does it all

Wow what a rabbit hole you're about to jump into ... Chris is technically "country" but his influence was BB King and Lucille !!! Each song you can almost feel when they enter the song !! Have fun with this artist ... lots of great ones and so as MANY of them live not album version!!

The rabbit hole usually begins with Tennessee Whiskey and I Was Wrong live from Austin City Limits. Sometimes I Cry from the Bing Lounge. Fire Away “official video” takes issue with mental illness. Tissues needed. The hole is deep and wide, enjoy ✌️

I was lucky enough to see Chris Stapleton in concert this year. I have never been to a "country" concert before, but Chris brought in the most diverse crowd I have ever seen there. He is so amazing.

I'm so jealous!! ,he was playing just a few miles away from me on long island this summer and I just couldn't make it for health reasons...i hope I'll be better next year.. I HAVE TO GO SEE THAT MAN!!!! and ofcorse Morgan and his incredible band!

Chris a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer. As of 2018, Stapleton has amassed credits writing and co-writing over 170 songs. He has co-written six number-one country songs including Kenny Chesney's five-week number-one "Never Wanted Nothing More", Josh Turner's "Your Man", George Strait's "Love's Gonna Make It Alright", and Luke Bryan's "Drink a Beer". His songs have appeared on many artists' albums including Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, and Taylor Swift. He has co-written with several artists as well including Vince Gill, Peter Frampton, Sheryl Crow, and Ed Sheeran. I couldn't find a current number for writing or co-writing credits but it's surely north of 200. Interestingly, with all of his talents, he didn't think he could be a solo artist. His wife had to work on him quite a bit before he decided to give it a go!

That's Chris when he has the power dialed way back. "Barely Alive" Acoustic (Live) nearly blew my eardrums out (headphones) the first time I heard it and it was recorded on a freakin' iPhone!

I’ll throw in my introduction to Chris- Nothing Compares 2 U. You know you have something special when an artist is willing to cover Aretha, The Godfather, and Prince live. But sometimes you want to focus on where the song takes you, and Chris may be an even better writer than performer. I’ll try and keep the studio list short(or if you see one with just the man and his guitar)- Whiskey and You, Daddy Doesn’t Pray Anymore, Either Way, Death Row, Nobody’s Lonely Tonight, and You Should Probably Leave. As another commenter said, quite the rabbit hole, and we’re here for it!👍🏾

Try Chris singing a tribute song to James brown, It’s a man’s world. It was with a different band, Chris was in the audience and and the band invited him on stage. All his songs are great. Death row, and many more. Great reactions from both of you. Thank you so much.

Chris does not have an orchrester usually him and 1-4 of instrumentalists. This was a Grammy awards show and they are always over the top. Chris makes you feel everything without added BS. E1 of his songs will touch you. Thank God his wife Morgane talked him into sharing his song writing, vocal abilitiies and music with the world. Masterful !

I would also suggest Home Free as you are relatively new to the reaction scene. "When a man loves a woman", "End of the road", and "Man of constant sorrow" are good starters. They are acapella.
