Welcome to Jinjer. Tatiana is a vocal goddess and the band's musicianship is second to none. If you are not use to her growls, I would suggest reacting to " I speak Astronomy" OMV. To fully appreciate how good they are, react to their live material. I recommend "Perennial" live at Wacken. A song with no growling would be "Bad Water". I suggest reacting to the live version.

Jinjer is ridiculously talented. The whole band is incredible and Tatiana can even sing multiple genres, including reggae, and sound equally at home with any of them. They really don’t have any bad songs in my opinion, all of them are fun to get to eventually but I recommend Perennial live at Wacken, Who is gonna be the One Live, Vortex, and Judgement and Punishment one take are all good songs to try next.

She is using her false vocal chords to produce that sound. Its perfectly safe they way she does it. And yes its her voice the only effect is a bit of doubling in parts of the song. The band name is Jinjer. Her name is Tatiana, the guitarist is Roman, the Bassist is Eugene and the Drummer is Vlad. They are from Ukraine. Check out the videos fo Who is going to be the one or Perennial(live at Wacken 2019)

It is only 5 weeks ago, but nevertheless too long... I stood in the front row at the concert... I stood there, felt the moment, felt the motion of the pit behind me... and the genuine bass, the perfect drums the super guitar... and suddenly Tatiana started to growl again... less then 3 meteres away from me... it was just mind blowing... it is something you have to see, hear, feel live to understand... it it out of this world...

Reactions to "Pisces" never get old! That song is the entrance to the deep rabbit hole of Jinjer! And yes, that´s absolutely her, just in the softer parts a little doubling has been added. Suggestions: "Perennial" (live at Wacken) "Who ist gonna be the one?" (live) "Teacher, Teacher" (official live video) "Pit of Consciousness" (live in Kiev) "Judgement (&Punishment)" (one take vocal performance) Softer stuff: "I Speak Astronomy" (official music video) "Bad Water" (official music video) Pretty hard: "Sit, stay, rollover" (official video) All very good, very well executed and quite different.

If you get to the point you want to understand the bands background a bit more check out: Retrospection (official video) and Homeback (official video). Wallflower is also very personal to Tatiana, I think about 20% really get the meaning of the song. Which I think aligns with the ratio of introvert:extraverts.

My simple take regarding her "Satanic" voice: If you were a selfless fish (Pisces) who wanted to see the world but was a bit skittish, and then got into the nets and was hooked by handsome butchers who proceed to rip away your scales and entrails (emeralds)... you'd growl too! So you see, sometimes the lyrics call for extreme vocals in a song. Tatiana (who's not singing as someone possessed, so you can toss the garlic back into the spaghetti sauce) wrote an incredible story and sang about it the way it deserved to be sung... as with most of her songs. Some vocalist just keep singing in their nice and charming voice even when the lyrics call out desperation. Not so with Tati. Her extreme expression - a rare ability - adds so much more to a song... especially if you follow the music with the lyrics and how the beautiful cacophony tells the story.

Funny, I'm 100% sure nobody in this world has ever heard a demon's voice (simply because they don't exist) and yet people like these two immediately assume that's how they sound. Someone should tell them that the demon's voices they heard in the movies are fictional.

🔥Welcome to Jinjer, Liz & Chelle! I just found your channel, great reaction, subbed! Thank you for bringing the fantastic genre twisting music of Jinjer to more people! I love their energy, how tight they are, the heaviness mixed with complexity and groove, beautiful singing and growling and especially Tatiana's lyrics! The first time I heard Pisces I hadn't liked any metal with growling and it took me a few listens to start liking it, but now Tatiana is my favorite vocalist and Jinjer my favorite band. TLDR: skip to the last paragraph 😂 Sorry for the long comment, I just love Jinjer too much and love seeing people discover (and usually fall in love with) them and each of their songs! My three favorite comments about Jinjer that I've seen, "terrifying levels of talent", "I hate it when a Jinjer song ends", and "that was more unexpected than my first child" 🤣 I love the story of Tatiana getting interested in learning to growl. In her own words, "I was inspired by Otep (Shamaya). When I was 15, my friend showed me a record of House of Secrets. I was like, ‘That dude - his voice is so powerful. And he said, ‘Oh come on Tatiana, that’s actually a woman!’ I was like, ‘What?’ She blew my mind. That was the time, the moment when I realized I wanted to shock people just like her. I just had the feeling or the intuition, like an extra sense that this is what I’m made to do.” For most of their songs, the three guys write most of the instrument music, then Tatiana writes most of the lyrics and melodies (she gets tons of well deserved credit for her vocal and stage performance abilities, but maybe not quite enough for her lyrical and musical composition abilities). Roman the guitarist has written a lot of the instrument music in the past, so he's a huge part of the beautiful sound of Jinjer, but Vlad the drummer (who also plays guitar and classical piano, but so far not in most Jinjer songs - I think he played piano in lainnereP) has been writing more of it and wrote nine of the eleven songs for the newest album Wallflowers, first three videos are out for Vortex, Mediator (heavier) and Wallflower. Eugene composes some - he wrote the instrument music for one song on Wallflowers and a few songs on other albums, and I know that apart from his amazing work on the bass, he adds riffs and has written lyrics for a few Jinjer songs. The band (all members have been Ukrainian, with Russian their first language) started in eastern Ukraine in 2009 as a group of three (then five) with none of the current members (they consider the official start of the band when Tatiana replaced the male vocalist and Roman joined as lead guitar 2009/2010), Vlad is the fifth drummer (joined in 2016) and it's been a group of four since 2015 (though they consider their road sound engineer Sasha to be a fifth member). I think they're still friends with all the former members. One of the things I love most about Jinjer is the messages in Tatiana's lyrics and the way she combines growling and beautiful singing with Jinjer's fantastic instrumentals to be so powerful for expressing the anger and pain in those messages: the anti-war message in Home Back, the anti-greed in On The Top, Mediator and No Hoard Of Value (also the horror of the coal mining industry in their home Ukraine), the protest song Who Is Gonna Be The One, the anti-fascism of Sit Stay Roll Over, the anger at people being narrow minded in Teacher Teacher and Judgment & Punishment, the struggles with mental health in Pit Of Consciousness, Vortex, Wallflower and Perennial, the giving voice to mother nature angry at humanity for letting capitalism destroy her in a bunch of songs like Ape, The Prophecy, Cloud Factory, Noah, Outlander, Dip A Sail and Bad Water. Other favorites are I Speak Astronomy, Retrospection, Words of Wisdom, Just Another, Captain Clock, Scissors, Exposed As A Liar, I Want It I'll Get It, A Plus Or A Minus, When Two Empires Collide, lainnereP, Prologue and Beggar's Dance (those last two are short album bookends that might do well together in one reaction). I haven't found a Jinjer song I don't love, so I think you can't go wrong if you choose any of them, but a few good choices might be Perennial (official and/or live at Wacken, both are must-see), Teacher Teacher (official and/or live in Melbourne), Judgement & Punishment (official and/or Tatiana's one take performance, again both must-see), Pit of Consciousness (official and/or live in Kiev/Kyiv, a third where both are absolutely must-see) or the heartwrenching plea against war in Home Back (official video). Note that because Jinjer has so many great official videos and so many astounding live performance videos, no Jinjer fan will ever mind if you react to a second video for a Jinjer song you've already heard, so whichever songs you choose, whatever pace you like: Enjoy! ❤🖤🤘

@@JustLiz21 I'm sad to hear that's happening on a Jinjer video! I can still watch it here in the US, but I know KZfaq videos can be blocked in only certain countries, hopefully it's just temporary. KZfaq has terrible copyright rules that have nothing to do with real copyright laws. I think what I read about it was that in the case of Jinjer, it's not the band or their label Napalm that makes a copyright claim against a KZfaq video, but that anyone can make that claim against any video (which just doesn't make any sense for copying and just seems like arbitrary censorship). Good luck with all your videos and other endeavors! ❤🖤🤘

Hah! First time reactions to Jinjer and Tatiana’s vocals never get old! I think she’s one of the best current vocalists in metal music, male or female, with her ability to go back and forth instantly from beautiful clean singing, with incredible tone and control, into some of the best scream/growl harsh vocals. She learned to do the harsh vocals on her own and she’s not hurting her voice doing those kind of vocals because she’s not using her regular vocal cords with the harsh vocals, she’s using her false vocal cords which are above the regular vocal cords. On a side note…I just got a ticket to see Jinjer live at the House of Blues in Boston in November and I am very excited!

Tatiana is a Pisces, and in astrology the Pisces symbol is two fish, like a yin Yang. It represents duality. Hence, the vocal choices and the lyrics. You should really read the lyrics. She writes poetry, and I think you’d get a better understanding of the song 🖤 “I doubt that she would growl like that with a dress on” lol Check out Wallflower off their new album, or I Speak Astronomy. Awnsering your question about how can she switch her singing style like that, she uses her false cords instead of her vocal cords. It's a technique used by many metal singers. There's tons of videos in youtube from vocal teachers explaining how it works. Keep in mind however that it's a technique that's not easy to master.

The way I came to terms with this style was to realize that we all have a darkness in our natures, which this type of vocal expresses. It's like the roar of a lion; a base expression of our animal natures. As to how she does it, it's just a vocal technique; there's nothing supernatural about it, unless you count the ability to sing in the first place as a gift from above (which I do). Nice reaction.

I love that the line after the first chorus is "no promises I ever give. don't rely on me and I won't deceive." because she didn't trick us, we all just _assumed_ she'd always be sugar and spice. ;) Tatiana is my idol too, tbh. It is incredibly hard for artists from outside the mainstream media markets in the US, EU, Japan, Korea, and the like to break into worldwide recognition (which also makes Dimash's success remarkable as well). When Tati is not being a metal goddess she's a shy young woman who battles chronic depression. But she's able to set all that aside and become what her art needs her to be to succeed. The best description of what she's doing is on the Fairy Voice Mother's reaction to this. As to the longevity of Tatiana's voice, she's been performing with growls since 2008 (after practicing them for years and singing with every band that would let her pick up a mic) and both her cleans and growls have been getting better year by year.

If you want a lighter and more fun approach to growling you might want to try Electric Callboy, they do a mix of Tecno and Heavy Metal with fun lyrics and even more funny videos. Tati is an ridiculous talented Singer and her harsh vocals is right up there with the best male growlers. And if you take a closer look at the lyrics of this song you'll recognise that the contrast in her singing is very appropriate for this song. It is called picses for a reason and lyrics are deep and very poetic. Enjoyed your reaction very much, thanks and have a nice weekend.

She's using her false vocal cords....she's had very little to no vocal training. She's got the growling down, and from what highly trained vocal coaches have said she's not damaging her voice. They're pretty much without a defining genre, as they put all different kinds into their music. The most popular is progressive metal. I primarily listen to death metal, blackened death and black metal, which tend to be 100% growled vocals....but i love Jinjer. They're all talented musicians. The guys write the music and she writes the lyrics in Russian THEN translates to English. Side note: EZ Mil is a huge metal head, as he referred so in Panalo. His metal alter ego is SLASHMOUTH

Hate to be the one to say this, but....there was a lot to be suspecious of here. You guys swear you not only never heard this song, but also weren't tipped off ahead of time about what happens in it that makes it such a popular song to react to? Because man, some of the stuff you said just before that first hard drop and immediately after came off pretty awkward. As if it was premeditated
