We go to Treaks Pringle Campsite near to Castleton where we unbox our brand new Dometic Auto Air Redux Tent, which is made from recycled plastic water bottles.
A short trip into Castleton, a view from the sky, and a little bit of camping food.
A look at just how much you can fit into a Tailgater.

Hi, I’ve just spoken to a caravan repair specialist who says the best system is a kojack jacking system that fits on the axel, I know what you mean about calling RAC, we are a year into our Eriba and it’s all a learning curve, enjoy the lakes!

You never cease to amaze me, totally addictive viewing! Are the Eribas days numbered?

Hi Andrew, the Eriba days are certainly not numbered, as we use it hail, rain or snow. In fact tomorrow we are off up to the lakes with the Eriba.

So glad I found your video today as literally over the bank holiday weekend I was contemplating doing this myself. Where'd you get the inflatable tailgate tent? Love it.

Hia, we bought it from Attwoolls Outdoors who sent it by post. They have a KZfaq Channel and a website. The tent is a bit pricey but worth it.

@@whereveraway Thanks for that. Do they class it as a tent or an awning?

Another interesting watch. That tent inflation was like an advert for Viagra 😂

Hi Gary.I haven't seen that set up before.Could it work using say a small hatchback car? The set up looks rapid but you set up your Eriba faster than we do anyway.Ann, my wife thought it better than sleeping on the ground in a tent which she would never do these days.What was Catherine's verdict? Are you going to alternate Eriba and tail gate tent? I suppose a big advsntage is not having to tow the Eriba and better access via narrow roads.

Hi Hayden, yes you can use a small hatchback car. That particular tent fits cars from 1.5 metres to 1.9 metres high. There are various ways of fixing to the car, including suckers that go onto the rear quarter windows. I would check the comfort of the car by putting some mattress toppers down and seeing if your car will be comfy enough for you. Catherine was fine with it and is pleased with the Tent. I agree with you in that we would not want to sleep on the floor either and I do recall one of your previous comments whereby you wanted to try something different. We are away again tomorrow in the tent, but at a much better site than this one. For weekends only, this way you can go away for a single night or two nights at very low cost and either eat out or just put some things into the cooler. No need for electric and if you like to top up phones etc you could use a small Jackery.

Great video, thanks. How long was set up & set down out of interest?
@whereveraway
@whereveraway 2 ай бұрын
Hi, the first time always takes a little longer but now we are established, the tent would take 10 minutes to put up including reversing and attaching the car. The rest of the set up time is furnishing it. It's about the same for taking the tent down. The bag is plenty big enough to fit the tent into.

Will you keep a list of the places that allow car camping. I’ve an eriba and a friend who car camps and it’s hard for us to find anywhere that will let us both on !

Hi Jane, we will vlog every site we go to. We use C&MH CL sites or Pitch Up nowadays. You can also use Pitch Up for discovery and just call the site at the last minute when you are not requiring a reserved pitch. On your subject of car camping. Most sites don't let sleeping in a car only, but are okay if there's a tailgater attached to it, as they won't know if you are sleeping in the car or not. You could share Eriba facilities whilst your friend sleeps in the car and all you need to do is pay a bit extra for the extra car. You could also put the car at 90 degrees and have a tarp shelter or canopy between her boot and your door to make it a better set up. No one really cares about positioning on an open field.

just a quick question, have you ever had a need to change a wheel on your van we have a 320 and I am looking at getting a jack? Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hi Andrew, we haven’t had to. The main dealer said just call the RAC. We had to buy a brace because the Eriba didn’t come with one. I’ve heard people say bottle jack under the axle.
