This is factually confirmed by some super serious science people. Studies conducted in the mid to late 90's, and frequently replicated just after the turn of the century, by the "Belgian Ecole des Arts et Technologies Sud" show that it is impossible to listen to this song without vibing out; not that we _need_ a bunch of stuffy scientists in lab coats and glow necklaces to know this song goes hard.

RIP Keith. He was not the vocalist on most of their songs though, as he provided vocals for roughly 20 of their 80-odd album tracks and he featured on 4 out of their 7 albums. The band's other vocalist, Maxim, provided vocals on a quite similar number of tracks, with the main difference being that he featured on 5 out of their 7 albums. Breathe is definitely their best track and what made it extra special back in the day was that it is their only song from the 90s, in which both Keith and Maxim provided vocals.

I only recently found out that Keith Flint (the front man in this clip, RIP) ran a pub for a while in his later years. On winter evenings when he'd get the fireplace going, anyone who made a "Firestarter" joke had to put money in a jar on the bar. I'm betting that jar was full most nights :) I do remember that the other UK rave/techno band that I became aware of at the same time as Prodigy, and always think of in tandem with them, is the Chemical Brothers. A different style of music and definitely of performance but definitely related, and something to try if you want more of this style. I'd love to see what you make of the track and video clip for "Hey Boy, Hey Girl". Oh, and "Ebenezer Goode" by the Shamen. Another from the British 90s rave scene, really fast and cheeky and enjoyable.

@chemicalBR0
@chemicalBR0 Жыл бұрын
@@nicolasdubus669 thats a different dust brothers consisting of E.Z Mike and King gizmo (famous for producing bands like the beastie boys). the chemical bros originally DJ'd as the dust brothers as a homage to the actual dust brothers (thinking they would never get famous enough for the name to be a problem) they put out a few eps under the dust brothers name and were threatened by the original dust brothers with court action so they then changed it to chemical brothers after the track chemical beats, that is the reason their 1st album was called exit planet dust

The Prodigy aka Liam Howlett was the best live band ever. Even Rage Against could not compete. he was also and still is one of the best D.J.s and producers. Listen what he did as an early composer with the Experience. The album is bonkers bust is made on mostly 80's tech.

ICONIC UK BAND - hardcore dance! I've been to 3 Prodigy concerts - each one was f**kin AMAZING! 🔥🔥🔥 Keith's energy was off the scale - the audience just went totally mental! All their songs were hardcore, but if they played Breathe, Firestarter, Smack My Bitch Up, Out Of Space(classic oldskool Prodigy!), Poison, Break and Enter - then you were at serious risk of injury! LOL! He always came down into the crowd & the buzz was unreal! I have a brilliant pic off him - he bounced off the stage to get the crowd even MORE hyped - He stood right in front of me and I managed to take the pic at the perfect moment - His tongue out - cool pic of tongue piercing on full display! Really kind & decent bloke......we couldn't believe it when he hung himself😭.....he was a LEGEND.....such a tragic loss....R.I.P. Keith Flint 💔

DEEP rabbit hole, keep going lol. Like 30 odd years. The core three members are/were Liam Howlett (producer), Keith Flint (Vocals/Dancer,RIP 🙏) and Maxim (Vocals/Dancer). They started back in the 80s as an underground rave/dance act, and hit the UK charts back in 1991 with their earliest hits Charley, Out Of Space and Everybody In The Place. If you want to go way back in time then those are the ones. Experience (1992): Charley (Alley Cat Mix) Everybody In The Place (Fairground Mix) Out Of Space Music For The Jilted Generation (1994) Poison No Good Voodoo People Their Law Fat Of The Land (1997, this track was on it): Mindfields Smack My B***h Up Narayan Diesel Power Breathe Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned (2004): Spitfire Girls Hotride Invaders Must Die (2009): Invaders Must Die Omen (and Omen Reprise) Warriors Dance Run With The Wolves The Day Is My Enemy (2015): The Day Is My Enemy Nasty Ibiza No Tourists (2018): Need Some1 No Tourists Fight Fire With Fire In 1999 they released The Dirtchamber Sessions vol 1 (never was a vol 2 lol), which is basically a mix up/jam session, great to check out in your own time.
