In today’s video, we headed down south to Tarpon Springs, Florida. This was our first time to visit this Greek town and there is so much to do! We did some research and found out that there are a lot of authentic style Greek things including restaurants and shops. Alex has been to Greece before so he was really excited to check out all the different things to do in Tarpon Springs. The spot we went to was called the Sponge District. There are so many sponges! We learned a lot about how they get the sponges and how the sponges grow back. The cool thing about a lot of their shops is that the soaps and lotions are all healthy, organic, and homemade! We stopped in to Lori’s and they had so many good things! Tember ended up getting face wash and Alex ended up getting cotton candy smelling lotion. We spent the full day walking down the street called Dodecanese and went to some shops. There was a guy playing the violin, which was really good and great to hear. We got lucky and were able to eat at Hellas Restaurant and Bakery. It is voted one of the best places to east at in Tarpon Springs, Florida! It was so good! It reminded Alex of Greece a lot. We got a lot of food and would recommend eating there if you get the chance. We ended by going into a sponge store and buying a couple sponges. There are so many sponge factories and stores that we will definitely have to come back and do another day of trying different things. Also, it seems like they have a pretty cool downtown area that we will have to check out to.
